Having an ad on craigslist and getting false replies  |

 I know there are legit people out there who use craigslist as a way to get some extra income. I myself am one of those people who advertise during the spring, summer and fall for yard work. It can bring some extra cash when needed. What gets me are responses to the ads like "Oh I can help you create business cards" or " I can tell you how to make money just email me back". Of course the lovely vague ones "Yes I'm interested tell me more."
Has anyone ever been tempted to respond to one of these fake responses? The only thing I have done is delete them because I know it's a scam artist trying to get a hold of information.

2.  rmorefield (777) | 6 months ago |  I had an ad up for housecleaning. I got many replies, but only one was legit. All of the rest said things like "Are you strapped for cash?" and "I can help you find work!" I never responded to any of them. I just deleted them. It made me incredbly angry that here I am, trying to promote my own business, and these people are trying to take advantage. I did look at them, however, and most of the responses came from Florida. Now, tell me this. How can someone in Florida help me to find houses to clean in Virginia?

3.  twoey68 (9610) | 6 months ago |  After all the things I've heard about Craigslist I wouldn't list on there if my life depended on it. Just recently a woman advertised on there looking for baby clothes and a woman answered. They became friends and the woman who posted the ad ended up killing the other and cutting her 8 month old baby from her womb...which later died.
It's just too risky to open up your life to a perfect stranger. If I needed someone to work in my yard, I'd check with local churches, schools or friends/family. I realy wish you luck and safety dealing with the site.
As to fake responses, if it were me and I knew it was a fake response, I'd just delete it and move on.
