Student denied diploma due to blowing kiss

There is no legal way that this school can deny him the right to graduate due to him blowing a kiss. School had already been dismissed for the year, and he obviously had made grades good enough to earn a diploma. If I were his parents, I would have been on the phone right then and there with a lawyer. Let them deny MY child a diploma after 12 years of hard work!!

Ok I agree with you! I think that is nuts. I thought that a school could not hold you diploma unless you owed money or somthing. Tha is not fair at all. Nothing like this better happen to any child of mine i would raise hell or high water. Kids work hard to get to the point in life. And who dose not like to have fun on graduation day you maid it. I mean Its a big deal.

Hello moonlitmagikchild, yes that was crazy. I would have an attorney present and I would demand to get the diploma or the attorney could make the demands. That is just not right after all it was to his mother and she might have been the reason he finished school.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't know of any law or any school rule, which says that graduates cannot bow and blow a kiss when their name is called. I find it ridiculous. I mean, there are definitely worse things that this student could have done. All that work, he's about to graduate, he's a step away from his diploma, and they deny him his diploma. It must have been just awful to do all that work and not be able to get his diploma and graduate.

I just read this post and said "What?" out loud. I think the bow and blown kiss is a sweet gesture. This only makes the school look like the bad guy.

If this happened to my child, the school will regret they day they messed with me.

WHAT!!! that is crazy!! NO SCHOOL HAS THE RIGHT TO DO THAT WITH ONLY THAT ACTION AS A BASIS!!. the parents should sue the school!

That is absolutely unbelieveable! And since he was already up there on stage, I'd love to know exactly what the scene was like when they denyed him his diploma. What the heck? That's just nuts! I think that the other clowns you mentioned should have been the ones denied their diploma, not the kiss blower.

I'd have been on that stage right then... There's no way they'd be denying my kids a hard earned diploma for something so trivial as that.

It's not enough that our kids are shooting guns and stabbing with knives or anything they can get their hands on to use as a weapon and this kid gets punished for blowing a kiss. What in the he** is this world coming to?

Our kids don't have a chance to be productive citizens becasue they have no role models anymore.

This was just not right at all and if I had been his parents I would have been out for more than blood!!!!

So some kids throw a beachball and she takes it out on one person? I say this goes higher than the school board - this should go right to the board of education! They can't legall do that and honestly this sup needs her head examed if she things that she has that much power.

I hope the start a petition to get her removed. Someone that power hungry shouldn't be in that kind of position. It's graduation for crying out loud!
