How do you handle change? |
|
How do you react when you go into your favorite website, and you hardly recognize it due to all the changes? Do you enjoy changes in your life, or do you like things to remain the same? I like changes in my life, but IT changes are a little demanding for me, and I often get frustrated due to my lack of knowledge.. I'd like to hear how other myLotters react.

1. spalladino (9140) | 7 months ago | I actually stopped posting on one discussion site for awhile because they had made major changes and many of us didn't like the new format...so they eventually returned to the original one. I like internet sites to stay basically the same. You get used to navigating it in a certain way and shouldn't have to relearn how to use the site after you've been there for awhile.

mipen2006 (2463) | 7 months ago | You sound like a person very much like myself. To an extent, I blame being pre computers as a reason. It's easy to navigate sites you visit often, however when they change, you have to learn everything again, and I'm a little old for that. Thanks for your input.

2. polachicago (7990) | 7 months ago | I love some changes, but not all changes. Human nature is to avoid pain and gain the pleasure. So I like all changes that are easy to adopt in my life... As far as website, some improvements are not good and make me feel like I have to start over...

mipen2006 (2463) | 7 months ago | I love changes in my life, and in fact look forward to them. But changes in websites I often visit are something else. They call changes 'improvements', but I call them confusing.

3. paula27661 (5647) | 7 months ago | I hate change even when intellectually I know it is for the best. As far as IT matters I am even worse. I get used to things a certain way and cannot handle the ‘not knowing’ that comes when things are done differently.
I recently bought a new MP3 player which meant downloading new software and getting used to a new way of managing my music. My new one is a lot better but at first I absolutely detested it and wanted my old one back; I didn’t even want to give it a chance because it looked and felt unfamiliar.
My dislike of change is an issue for me I think! I’m working on it...

mipen2006 (2463) | 7 months ago | great response russo. I can surpress frustration and anger on most occassions, however changes to websites still annoy me. I am usually loking forward to looking at something when I enter the site, then I don't know where to move next, Grrrr! I know I have to knuckle down and read and follow instructions, but I don't ... anger menagement course needed here.
