walkman: do you still have/use one?  |

|  i was thinking today about what a great invention the mp3 player is. we can fit thousands of songs on to a device that's smaller than an audio cassette.
i remember owning one of those portable cassette players, a walkman. it was a small, slim model but was still bulky compared to the biggest ipod and i had to also carry a large amount of cassettes whenever i wanted to take my walkman on a train journey or to the beach.
do you still own a walkman, if so do you still use it?
do you know anyone who still uses a walkman?

| |  I use to have a walkman and took it every where...The problem was you would have too take a big bag or backpack just too hold all your music tapes...lol..I don't have my walkman no more but I do have and use an Ipod wich is so much better...

| |  i..think we still have one around here somewhere.
one of the pencil box sized ones.
i did like it,it was revolutionary for the time,but BOY did it eat batteries.
mine used to slow down after one cassette tape.
an mp3 player is a blessing in comparison.

| |  my brother have that walkman but now that you ask.i did not see it for a long time now.we use the dvd player for our music now and not use the walkman.maybe it is in one of our cabinets upstairs.

| |  I never owned a walkman. I had two discmans which didn't lasted more than a month. Fortunately, those little mp3 players are pretty hard to brake.

| |  I use to have a Walkman. yeah me to use take it everywhere with me. I was so proud of it. Now it's not working properly and it's place has been taken by mobile phones. I find mobile phones more convenient than Walkman as it has a larger storage capacity and we don't have to carry the cassettes everywhere.

| |  My husband and I were just talking about walkmans the other day. We saw an older gentleman jogging around the neighborhood listening to his walkman. We kind of laughed because walkmans really were great compared to portable cd players because they are shock resistant. But now that mp3 players are so popular they are perfect for jogging. Shock resistant and can store tons of music.
So no I don't still have a walkman. Actually come to think of it I don't think I still own any cassettes.

| |  Oh wow, I haven't seen a walkman in ages! They are so bulky compared to what is out on the market today. I have an iPod Nano that I use. It's small and easy to run with and holds plenty of songs. I have an arm band that I can attach it to my arm with. I usually run with a friend of mine and our kids. I have portable speakers that I attach to my jogging stroller so we can both hear the music.
