walkman: do you still have/use one?

Well, I used to have one lots of years ago, but it was spoilt and I thrown them away since. I still have a few of the audio cassettes, but I do have any player to play these now...

I don't really think that anyone use these, even if they still have the old players...

Lol I havent owned a walkman in a long long time. I used to listen to mine all the time as a kid and teenager. Walk around with a ton of tapes and of course a bunch of batteries too lol. Then I got a cd player, that well you sure as hell couldnt walk around with since it would skip lol. I use my ipod now though.

Hello robert67, I might still have a walkman put away in storage. I use my i-pod when I want to listen to music away from home If I am at home I can put my i-pod on a doocking station. In my car I don't have anything but a cd/cassett so I have a way to hook up my i-pod where the cassette goes. I use the same thing to watch movies in the car on long trips and the movie will be in stereo.

I still own a small cassette/am/fm radio player. I would love a MP3 player I am thinking that since my birthday is coming up in July that maybe everyone would get together and buy something I can use or want something that just won't take up space and become something for me to dust or throw into a closet.. I wouldn't need a expensive one at all..I use my cassette tape radio when I take walks it helps me take my mind off the actual walking and exercising and when it is a good song it makes me feel good doing what I am doing..so yeah I would love one. something smaller and not so big that I can put anywhere even a bra so I don't lose it.

I used to have a very nice walkman...best sound I'd heard! Now, though, as you said, mp3 players have replaced most walkman's. I haven't had one in years.

I remember travelling from France to Italy by bus back in 1989; I had my trusty walkman and my case full of tapes...Those were the days! It was a bulky plastic thing and the tapes needed to be re-winded after playing. I moved onto a Discman a few years later and the CDs used to jump around whenever the machine was moved!

These days I have hundreds of songs and videos stored in a machine smaller than a mobile phone, speaking of which do you remember when cell phones were the size of a brick?

Wow I still remember when i was schooling Walkman was one of the most popular thing.......people used to tuck it around their belt and listen to music all day long......so one fine day my dad had got a Sony Walkman for my birthday, and i was so happy....i would plug the earphones into my ears and listen to music, i went ahead the other day to buy some nice cassette for it.......but today it has turned a thing of the past, most of the popular music companies have stopped selling cassettes......it is now replaced my I-pods and Mp3 players......which are more convenient and you don't really have to rewind or forward it.....you just go to the track you want to listen to that's it......but still i miss those good old cassette Walkman.....i feel old is gold.....

Yes!i still have one.that is an aiwa piece and the head phones are from sony.We can get an ipod now for the rate I paid for the original sony head phones. But now I am not using it as I don't travel much as before.It is still in good working condition.Cheers!

Hi Robert, No I never had a Walkman but I have a MP3 player at home and in the car. I have never liked listening to music on earphones and can't stand seeing people plugged in. I see the safety factor when crossing roads etc. they can only hear the music and not hear the car that may be coming too fast. I am the same with music that is too loud in the car as you cannot hear emergency vehicle sirens if turned up too loud I guess. I know a lot of people who jog listening to music but not for me, not that I jog but when I walk I like to listen to the sounds of nature around me instead. I think I know anyone that still has a Walkman either, I guess the girls carbooted theirs some time ago. Huggles. Ellie:D
