walkman: do you still have/use one?

I have a walkman and it is still working but I rarely use it like only when I need a radio to listen to the news when the electricity is out.

i think the most frustrating thing about using the walkman player is the fact that the batteries run out quickly and i have to buy batteries over and over again that was really draining the pockets, i dont use walkman any more, since technology has made it easier to play my music files through the mobile phone, i can thuse listen to music for several hours without worries

I don't have any a walkman left but I have plenty of audio cassettes left at home which are carrying those songs that are not so easy to find. So, how to replay them? We still have the good old hi-fi with cassette player. It really surprises me to know that it still work today.

well, u are right..!! its great invention indeed with its potability..!! i do have one safe with me and use it often..i have phone with mp3 inbuilt so dont use ipod separately..walkman and phone are sufficient for me..!!

I think I still have one. But it has conked off with no one ready to repair. And now we dont even get cassettes in the shops.

Gosh, I have not heard the word walkman for a long time. I forgot they even existed. Years ago I did have one and used it all the time. It is amazing how things change so much over time. I see a lot of people with the MP3 players, especially on the buses. I don't have one but I imagine they are just as fun as (or maybe I should say more fun than) the walkman.

it`s a great period belong to SONY.maybe nowadays the IPOD is so popular,i remain enjoy the CD or CASSETTE players.i thing the digital music is so bad!

Actually, I have two of them, but I don't use them.
Some time back, I was cleaning up my wardrobe and got all those stuffs I used when I was kid and there I found these walkmans.
I don't think any one's using it now..
Why would you carry those cassettes when you can have all of them stored??!!

Oddly enough, I never had one until I was given one free last summer... my iPod had self-destructed and someone was offering a free CD Walkman, so I took it. It was good to listen to CDs and the radio, but the batteries don't last long. It definitely takes a lot more battery power to spin around a CD drive than to play a flash-based iPod.

I, myself don't own a walkman now, but I did enjoy using a walkman to just listen to music. I also had a portable c.d. player at one time. I had got a radio to listen to music from, and then later I bought myself a MP3 player, but really don't use any of those anymore. Now we listen to music at home or in the truck, no need for anything else, lol.
