walkman: do you still have/use one?

Hi i remember having a walkman that played cassettes. It was great at the time. I think i had two. Cant remember. But i had a CD walkman after that. And guess what? i've still got it! Yep it is in my drawer, dont know how old it is though. It is still functionable, well i think anyway. Dont really need it anymore as have ipod. But i mainly use my phone as it is more convenient i think.

Oh I hated the Walkman! still do.. I dunno I always found it so annoying because they mostly came with only ordinary batteries so you couldn't even charge the dam thing, you had to keep buying new batteries! besides, you also had to carry a collection of tapes/cds if you wanted to change songs so that was annoying.. and worse of the headphones were like bigger than you head so you spent most of the time making sure the damn things didn't fall of your head instead of enjoying the music! I owned one of those really old fashioned ones and I was glad when my little nephew broke it otherwise I would smashed it myself!

LOL, a walkman. Wow, I remember those days! Or the radio with the cassette player. I used to have the walkman with the CD player/AM FM radio. I love my mp3 player so much better, the battery doesn't die out as fast.

I do not know anyone who still owns, not alone uses one. A couple of years ago, my wife did consider getting a CD player for her spanish studies, so that she could listen to stuff on the train. And that is even more chunky. I brought her an iPod instead. Occasionally, I do see someone on the train use a CD player, and I think "what a dinosaur"; but I never see anyone using a honest to goodness walkman anymore.

This is funny and brought back many memories..I remember my first walkman when i was about 6 yrs old...lol... at that time, they were the best invention ever!
actually mine didn't even have the casette player. I'm not sure but I believe you can no longer get a walkman and who would want to anyway with the mp3 player. You can store so much music and your even able to buy one with a rechargeable battery.
there is always something new with electronics and are supposed to simplify your life. I truly don't know anyone with who owns a walkman and I'm not sure anyone would want to.

Well, I haven't used a casette player walkman, but I've actually looked around the house a few times, in need to listen to an old set of tapes/cassettes, without any luck.

I do still use the CD walkman/discman sets though. I must say that I am still a CD listener totally. Yes, I am olden day, if you call it that this generation, not using mp3's yet.;o)

I think I got rid of my walkman like 10 years ago! LOL I had a compact disc player up until a few months ago and I gave that to a neighbor to sell. It wasn't easy but he sold it for like $25.

the invention of mp3 player Walkman is a part of history right now. I have a walk man but i don't use it anymore . and it hard to find fora new tape today in our place. And other advantage of MP3 players you can put hundred of songs not like a Walkman that only in a tape and you can even change and select it

hmm walkman,can we say that walkman almost one of antic now? i've used it long time ago before there's cellphone and computer technology..it was my fathers present on my birthday..now i use cellphone it's easy cause i can listen to music and making call and more..

Hello my name is Sarah and I am an dinosaur And a packrat. Of course I still have my walkman and my cassettes. I don't own a mp3.All my music is either on vinyl, cassette or cd, period.I remember packing all the tapes I wanted to hear during the trip to the seaside and what I wanted to hear while on the beach. These days if I go, I just scan the local radio stations on te trip and I don't just sit on the beach so I don't carry any music. back in the day if I didn't hear The Beach Boys, it wasn't summer. Now I can't remember when I hear them.
