How much is too much?

For me, nothing is too much when it comes to cake.=D

No, they each deserve their own cake and so I think that you should give them each one. I love cake and if it wasn't so hot here I would probably make one today. It is better than yesterday though.

I don't think so. As Father's day should be considered a day seperate than your Son's b-day. I have similar dilema's as 2 of my kids + FIL + SIL2 have their b-days all in the same week.

I think I would maybe have baked one bigger or more complicated cake as its two occasions so close together. You must have a real big family so you are sure both cakes will be eaten and nothing will go to waste.
Or do you put the remaining cake into the freezer to have it later.

Nope... I think they both deserve a cake. From a girl that should be, and kind of is, on a diet, I might take a smaller piece, knowing that more is coming, but other than that I think its a great tradition. I think they are a sign of your love your hubby and your son, and I think that its a great tradition. I hope you have a happy father's day and a great birthday party as well. How fun!

Makes sense if you are baking them at the same time. You can also freeze some of it and have some snacks for later. Or you could send the extra in with your hubby to work..... I'd probably do it too if it's tradition.. Although this humidity might make me wonder....

Hey kats! I don't think that 2 cakes is too much! Not in this
case! It is only right that you make your hubby his Father's
Day cake! I think he deserves it! And your little boy should
of course get his cake for his birthday too! So I guess you
have no choice but to bake the 2 cakes! What you can do is
send some cake with your hubby to his job so that you don't
have too much cake for the family to eat! Keep the cake for
your son for the family! You just gave me an idea too! I think
I will surprise my boyfriend and make him a cake for Father's
Day too! I haven't been baking for awhile since I am trying to
stay away from cake! Thanks for the idea! I think he will like
that very much! I will make his favorite cake which is the
Funfetti cake with whipped white icing! I'm not a big baker
so I stick to the mix! Hope your hubby has a wonderful Father's

No, 2 cakes are not too much if you do it 1 time, but if you make 2 cakes like every week it is too much. This kind of special days, they deserve a cake, there is not a lot of them in a year you know.

Heck no its not too much. It isn't like you make and eat two cakes on a regular basis is it?
Have the two cakes. They are for two different reasons and to tell ya the truth your husband might say he understand why you didn't have a cake for him but if it is something you do every year his true reaction could be as bad as if you were telling your son he wont be celebrating his birthday.

What kind of cakes BTW?

My daughter's birthdays are four days apart.....so I would try to do something different for them....like one would get a cake....the other a pie of their choosing....but I think it's alright to give them both a cake...since it's a tradition!
