That is why I do not use AVg, it does not do a good job of removing viruses or detecting trojans (which I think is what you got.) I use Avira Antivir and it does a good job.and you could try that, but it seems that it might be too late.
Oh I get those fake run a virus screen and get away from the page, and usually in the former the only thing you can do is to boot down your machine and start it up again.
What I would suggest is to try Avira Antivir http://www.free-av.com/,, get rid of your old anti viruses to avoid conflict and see if it works. In the meantime, put what you need on separate cds, dvds, or what have you, just in case, you may need to format your computer.
Sometimes that might be the only thing left.

So sorry to hear about your computer problems. Can you do a system restore?

This could be any of a myriad of items known as Malware or Adware, which are not really covered by Anti virus programs. You could try some of the specially designed software, such as Adaware etcetera, but they are really intended to defend against such things rather than remove them.
One option would be to run System Restore to turn your computer back to before the problem arose, providing that it has not been disabled.
As a last resort you could always format the drive and re-install Windows.

It's really hard to get rid of such viruses or malwares or etc. Just be careful in those prompt boxes appearing in your screen, or those warnings about a script.. If you really wanted to surf the internet with confidence, I think you can try to use a software the freezes your hard disk. I recommend you to use "defreeze" especially when your an internet surfer. Even though you activated some viruses in your computer, you just have to reboot your system.

Try to download this http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html I use it as well as AV. It picks up a lot of things AV misses.
Like someone above said, can you try System Restore?

They saved my last computer from the Virtumonde virus
that spawns thousands of pop ups per hour.

Just download and install and run a full scan.

Be sure to disconnect from the Internet before doing
that or else the virus will only contact the Internet
for a new batch of viruses.

Also, scan while offline.

Unplug completely from the Internet.

Oh, that's so sad lamb101! I'm sure that you must be very tensed handling this issue. Especially when you find your files are missing. Blue screen, tell me about it! I've experienced that myself. Hope you get to cleanse all the virus out of your computer. Good Luck.

I wish I had some advice for you, my husband insisted that I get a MAC to prevent such virus problems. Every time my mac has an issue, I just take it into the apple store and they fix it for free. I hate it when the computer is in the shop. I feel so disconnected from the world. I hope your computer gets back to normal asap.

This will be a taskful and kind of a hassle thing to do but this is most likely very effective.

Take your HD out and back up the important files. then you re format everything.
