L-carnitine is amino acid that is found in nearly all cells of the body. L-Carnitine plays a critical role in the production of energy from long chain fatty acid. Its transport fatty acids into mitochondria, the powerhouse of cells. We shouldn't look at L-canitine as a magical nutrient that will solely shed off our unwanted pound, being physically active is still the key component to losing our bulges.

If you are looking to boost your intake of L-Carnitine the natural way, I.E with foods, you should up your daily intake of red meat, such as beef which contains the highest amount of this amino acid. As well as dairy products, legumes, and vegetables. If youre trying to lose weight, try upping this intake 20-30 minutes before a workout as you will see the best improvement in fat loss when done this way! Good Luck

Well, L-Carnitine is natural occurring substance in our body. And yes it helps the body to burn fats. But if you really want to loose weight you need to take L-Carnitine supplements that you can buy on many stores out there and of course you really need to exercise! Happy MyLotting!

I take L-carnitine with alpha lipoic acid....I read that this helps keep blood sugar under control. Alpha lipoic acid is an essential fatty acid.

the primary function of carnitine in our body is to regulate fat oxidation (burning), L-carnitine is responsible for transporting fat to the bat furnance in our dells callded mitochondria, unless fat makes it it to the mitochondria, it can not be oxidzed, no matter how much you exercise or diet..
