It was only of late that I enjoyed drinking wine. I didn't come from a rich family so I had not been raised to drink wine. But recently, I've been giving wine a try, sipping a glass or two during social events I get to attend. I can say I like wine, the taste is good, especially red and white wine. My favorite is Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Sometimes I like Merlot. Australian and European wines are great. How about you? Do you drink wine? Any particular favorite?

As long as its cheap chilled and sparkling I dont care what its called. I probably only drink wine half a dozen times in a year. I dont like heavy red wines.

I love all kinds of wines. I used to work in the wine trade and we got to try different wines from all around the world and I learned such a lot about wine. If I'm in a wine shop now I feel like I'm spoiled for choice, there are so many lovely wines available. Depending on my mood I am attracted to drinking different wines. Today I bought a bottle of rose wine - white zinfandel from California - because it is so hot here today I wanted something really cool and refreshing to drink later.

I have to disagree with the Australian wine. I think all australian wine is bad. But I do love the merlot. But white wine goes well for everyday.

Chardonnay is a great one.

Chardonnay grapes produce the greatest white wine in the world. Its origin is Burgundy, where it is used to make the white wines of Chablis, Montrachet, Merasult, Macon, and other areas. In california, it produces exquisite wines that range in style from austere and crisp (great with osyters and fish) to deep, luscious, and complex-wines that are outstanding companions to rich shellfish such as lobster or scallops. Chardonnays require some bottle age to reach their full maturity (usually about 3 years). Unfortunately the demand for fine Chardonnays is so great that resturants have a hard time stocking older vintages, and usually only current vintages are avaliable. The only solution to this problem is to age these wines in your own cellar, take a properly aged bottle to the resturant, and pay corkage.
