TRANSFORERS: Revenge of The Fallen  | |  Have you read the news online about the new Transformer Movie? Some people are trying to say that the two twin robots are racists!!! I think this is a real stretch. Some reporter with the Associated Press made the online report stating that the two robots are "jive- talking Chevy" characters were racial caricatures. That Skids and Mudflap,twin robots disguised as compact hatchbacks, constantly brawl and bicker in rap-inspired slang. They're forced to admit that they can't read. And One has a Gold Tooth!! He went on to say that even though they fight along the good guys and the Autobots, and they are intended to provide comic relief; their traits raise the specter of stereotype's. And it is most notable when you see Jar Jar Bink's, the clumsy, broken-English speaking Alien from "Star Wars:The Phantom Menace," was criticized. One fan called the Transformers twins Jar Jar Bots in a blog he posted online.
What is wrong with these people is my question? Why can't people just go to see a movie as entertainment anymore without reading all this noncense into it? Can't you just watch a movie anymore for fun? Why do they have to bring race and putting that kind of thing into it? Nobody would go there if somebody like that reporter hadn't mentioned it in the first place. Get a real life dude. Have fun for once. Just watch the movie for what they made it for good fun. I enjoyed it. It was a hour and 50 minutes of fantasy cut and dry. Enjoy it and leave it at that. Geezzeeee

I cant wait to see this movie but unfortinally I wont be able to see this movie for another week since I cant see it this weekend wich sucks and forgot it came out on wednesday. But hopefully it will be at the drive in next weekend with another good movie I want to see because thats a good place to go see this movie.

PeacefulWmn9 (3126) | 7 months ago |  Hello Cookie...racism, stereotyping, and bigotry have become such sensitive subjects the world over that some see it in every little thing, even when it does not exist! It is over-used, that anger, in my opinion. We all know it exists, yes, but not in every innocent little thing. I do believe some use it, like with these robots, to keep the issue and their own personal anger and bias alive. And that is a shame.

Take any movie you have saw and i can almost be sure that one of your friends didn't like it. Saying that if you don't agree with my opinion then we can just agree to disagree. I do think Transformers will be a huge hit in the money sack and it will be a huge grossing movie probably even taking out The Dark Knight.
Personality, my own opinion. My thought about Transformers 2 was it was stupid. 5/10 for me. It didn't get me going like the first one did and the story sucked and how the events played out didn't even be half as interesting as the first. The humor sucked and i didn't even get a chuckle. It's like Bay didn't know if he wanted to make the movie a comedy or an action, so he decided to do "teen comedy" and half the action. If i wanted to laugh at some "teen humor" i would have watched The hangover again and laugh off. I wanted to see some transformers not some sub college storyline. The story was to slow pace for me and i almost ended up falling asleep. (probably not from the movie but from me only having three hours of sleep.) Overall, i didn't like it but that doesn't mean other people will. The midnight crowd i was with absolutely loved this movie and gave it a standing ovation to close it out. When i was walking out the theater, i could hear other people telling their friends that "it was the best movie ever" and things like "Nothing can top this." Love it or hate it, definitely Transformers 2 is going to make some M-O-N-E-Y | |

I don't think Transformers has ever been written to be funny. So if you were expecting that, yes you were going to be disapointed. I went to see the movie tonight with my adult son(33) and my sister-in-law(46)an I am 54 and we loved it!! And we are hoping they come out with another movie as fast as they can make one. Now I know I probably shouldn't say this, but when my son was little I was the one that had him watch the Transformer cartoons! I was the one that bought all the toys to go with the cartoon. I loved the toy that was 5 transformer cars that fit together to make make the big OptimusPrime. it stood almost three feet tall. But you are to young to know that. Now you made a reference between Transformers and Dark Knight. The only thing they have in common is the money they came close to making on opening day. Dark Knight made grossed 67.8 million and Transformers made 60.6 million and that was just one day. The numbers are not in for the weekend totals yet. I think that after the totals are in after Saturday Transformers will do excellent. I think the only reason Dark Knight did so well was because of the deaths associated with the film. Alot of people like the stars that appear in Transformers. You have Shia LaBeouf who is an excellent actor and has proved himself more than once. I loved him with Wil Smith in I,Robot. And the female that plays his girlfriend Megan Fox is a drop dead beautiful girl and good little actress in her own right. This movie will do fantastic. | |
