Ok, so I respect the fact that you don't like his music, but you have to admit that their style is totally different... and yes, there was a time when Michael Jackson had the world in his hands.
BTW, I think that MTV was a curse since it started... it changed the whole music business

Was it just Michael that caused the downfall of MTV? I thought it was really the whole Hop Hop thing that moved my music first from MTV to VH1 and then gone to the annals of Rock and Roll. Michael at least did music videos like the rockers but when the whole hip hop and gangster rap thing emerged, MTV went from being about the music to nothing more than an instant message box for the streets!

One was king for some, the other was king for most of the rest.
IMO both were talented in different ways.
Both became icons. When you become a household name, thanks to the rest of your fellows who put you on that pedestal, you have a duty. If you fulfill that duty you have a right to a place in history whether you were king for most or not. If you didn't then you have no right to become a legend. Your talent should not be forgotten but neither should all the rest either.

I wasen't a Michael Jackson's fan because I like the sixties but over the years, sta old songs of the Jackson Five, i have not bought any of Michael cds but it is still very sad thet he has died, too young, yes Elivs will always be the King.
