differentiate faith from believe

Based on Hebrews 11:1 in the Bible, it says that "...faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." According to the AR dictionary the word believe means, "To exercise belief in; to credit upon the authority or testimony of another; to be persuaded of the truth of, upon evidence furnished by reasons, arguments, and deductions of the mind, or by circumstances other than personal knowledge; to regard or accept as true; to place confidence in; to think; to consider; as, to believe a person, a statement, or a doctrine."

I think the fundamental difference between belief and faith is this: we can believe in God, because we have been taught to do that, but we may not have faith in him. There are two main reasons for this: we may profess belief to please our family, but our own inclination may be away from faith, or something may have happened in our life to make us lose our faith - the death of a child, for example. I think if you have faith in something, you think something could come about it. I think when you believe in something, you really do trust in it and know it will happen on some way or sense.

Another way English just doesn't have the best of words available! We believe a lot of things, especially if they can be proven. We have faith in that which we can only prove within ourselves.

Faith is a permanent belief that you can hold and sustain at the last minute of your breath where belief/believe is any idea that can changed through time, that can be influenced by time, your society and the among other around you.
