Why Am I Not Surprised About Possible Cause Of Michael Jackson's Death |
| |
| It's still too soon to get the full autopsy report results of the cause of Michael Jackson's death and may not be released for more than four weeks, however speculation is running around according to news reports that what triggered his cardiac arrest may have been due to some heavy duty painkillers of which reportedly he was heavily addicted to including oxycodone (one of the medications also found in late actor's Heath Ledger's system) and it's reported too that just prior to Jackson going into cardiac arrest he was given a heavy dose of Demerol http://www.guardian.co.uk... (Warning: NOT a referral link but to article) Reports in the Sun suggested that Jackson may have collapsed after an injection of Demerol, a powerful painkiller that can in certain circumstances increase the risk of cardiac arrest. The singer became addicted to Demerol and morphine during his 2003 trial for child sex abuse. "Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing," the newspaper quoted one source as saying. "His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped." Here's another article about the medication link to Jackson's death http://www.nydailynews.co... Whether you liked Jackson, loved him, hated him...does it really matter? Here he was under the care of many doctors, including a cardiologist who lived with him for round the clock care...and consequently has conveniently disappeared and of which no one can find. Still this is another death probably caused by prescription medications under a so-called doctor's care. How many more celebrities are going to die while under a doctor's care and being addicted to the medications that are supposed to be helping them? Why didn't someone try to get Jackson help for his addiction to painkillers? | | | | | |

| | Yes it makes you wonder doesn't it, but I guess no-one could really help him if he didn't want to be helped. They showed a clip of him yesterday, I would say it wasn't all that long ago and to me he looked completely out of it, he didn't look too well at all..maybe he had something wrong with him that he needed the painkillers who knows...if he had a doctor living with him and the painkillers were just for no real reason then he should be charged with murder..it all just goes to show us all, money, fame and all that doesn't necessarily bring happiness...I feel sorry for the kids in this...RIP anyway Michael.... | | | | | | |

| | It makes you wonder too if Jackson's bizarre behavior might have been triggered off by any medications he was taken. Painkillers...especially the real heavy duty kind aren't really to be fooled around with and usually are for short term use, but most are very addictive | | | |

| | This happens a lot... Elvis, Heath Ledger, Judy Garland, to name a few, with the prescription drugs. My sister and I were just talking about, when we had major surgeries and we were put on pain killers, that even though we were in major pain, we stopped the drugs early because we HATED the side affects, pain or not. We just lived with the pain, used ice, or took over the counter to alleviate it. The more you take, the more you need to make it work. It lasts longer in the beginning and the more dependent you get on it, the more you need to stop the pain. What makes me angry is doctors that continue to give prescriptions, all the while knowing this. As far as I am concerned, most doctors are just legal drug dealers. They will not use, known, natural ways to end pain. | | | | | | |

| | Yes to my mind many doctors are legal drug pushers--also many doctors just plain don't know all the possible side effects and complications by interactions of several drugs. My mother was had a painful kidney infection and her doc gave her heavy duty painkillers...she acted like a zombie, slept most of the time and on top of that, drank! A wonder she didn't put herself in a coma..I told her to stop taking them....and thankfully she did listen to me (for a change...LOL) | | | |

| | Why didn't anyone try to help Elvis when he was in the same situation? I think the increased risk of an arrest had been coming for quite awhile. His parents may not have known to what a degree he was dependant on these drugs he was taking. He probably got this so-called doctor's care because he would give him what he wanted. And probably paid him well for it. Drug abusers are deceptive and determined when it comes to what they want and feel they need. He must have been in alot of pain [atleast at some point] after that accident he was in. | | | | | | |

| | Celticeagle, while some people intentionally get into addictive substances, I have also discovered that some indeed get addicted because the addictive substances were wrongfully prescribed to them. I hope people will learn to trun to preventive and natural medicines for whatsoever health problem they have. And the fact that these drug pushers and drug dealers calling themselves "doctors" are in it for the money only make matters worse! | | | |

| | To quote you: Why didn't anyone try to help Elvis when he was in the same situation That could have been the problem...sometimes family members don't recognize a "problem" with another family member as the person might hide the problem whatever it is very well. In Jackson's case...yes, he no doubt was in a lot of pain after his accident...but he could have been rehabilitated and given pain management without relying on medications after awhile--I guess to the doctors it was just easier to keep pumping him up with meds | | | |

| | This is very sad news. You know, I did not know and do not remember it mentioned that Michael had a drug problem or had chronic pain. Demerol, while habit-forming, is a pain reliever. So very sad and so disappointing! Poor baby! Hope the child in Michael finds his rest! I do not indeed understand why people often resort to drugs rather than simple improve on their diets and lifestyles for good health! | | | | | | |

| | You know I am not suprised either. It is not hard for anyone to get addicted to pain medication by doctor! it was very easy for my friends doctor to just hand her a prescription of 120 percodan 10 mg pills for her back! 120 pills! I couldn't believe that. And he just gave her that and said I'll see you in a month. So for a STAR of his stature to be addicted is very easy to hear. Why his doctor didn't stop it, didn't help him. Only that doctor can answer those questions now. Maybe that is why they can't find him for questioning. He should be held responsible for murder in some ways. But that is the police to decide. | | | | | | |

| | It does seem very odd that Jackson's doctor "disappeared"--I'm betting he realized his mistake and yes could be probably be charged with murder especially if he knew all the other medications Jackson was taking and should have used more caution | | | |

| | There was a doctor here in Louisville that had his privileges taken away because he was giving to many pills to his patients. One of his patients died right in his waiting room! The guy had gone to the window several times and told the girl he was feeling funny and she told him he had to wait his turn! He had a heart attack and died in the waiting room. They wouldn't let hm write his own prescriptions for almost a year and all his patients that take 'controlled pain medications' have to drug test every month to make sure they are clean and not taking any other street drugs! | | | |

| | How heartless of that receptionist telling the patient to "wait his turn"--reminds me of a story I heard sometime last year of how a woman was at her doctors office and was in the beginnings of a heart attack....they did call 911 and just as they were ready to take the woman away to the hospital, the receptionist said she couldn't leave until she paid the $5.00 still owed! Here's the article about that http://abclocal.go.com/wa... (Warning: NOT a referral link but to an article) | | | |

| | they say on the news cast at 9:51pm that they have found the doctor that was there with Jackson and they police have made an appointment to talk with him. Personally, if I had been the police I don't think I would have be so friendly or nice. but maybe that's just what they are saying to the public. I think that if Jackson had not been given the medication he would still be here tomorrow and still be doing the concert and this is one huge tragedy. | | | |

| | Hi Pye...If the doc gave him the Demerol, he might end up being responsible for causing him to go into respiratory depression, which could cause respiratory and cardiac arrest. If he was already taking oral medications, then getting an injection someone may be responsible for his death. If it is true, that Jackson, being addicted to drugs, would have to take some responsiblity for his own demise. I personally think Michael Jackson died a long time ago. He seemed more like a tormented soul. May he rest in peace now. | | | | | | |

| | The problem as I see it was Jackson's notoriety...being at the status he was, he no doubt requested medications from his doctors and they were more than willing to give them to him whether they should or shouldn't have | | | |

| | Hi Pye....sad isn't it? No, it doesn't surprise me either, not even a little bit. People like him and so many, many others have the money and the means to get what they want. I've never heard of a doctor, and I might be wrong on this, that came forward from any of the celebrities deaths to confirm that they REFUSED them treatment at one time or another. It's all about the buck and the prestige I think of being the doctor of so and so, look at me. So, another wasted human death has occurred, much earlier than it should have, and who's to blame? You know the old saying "Just say No?" about drugs....I think it should refer to the doctors also, not just their patients. | | | | | | |

| | Depending on what medications total Jackson took, and he may have been taking medications all his life just about may have explained a lot of his behavior, don't you think? To give an example...almost all those kids who killed kids on school grounds were taking anti-depressants that actually made them more violent | | | |
