All about the STAR on your name

I checked the FAQ but I didn't see any question (and answer) regarding the colors of the stars. I sure would like to know what each color means. I'm thinking they won't be there for no reason at all - the different colors I mean. Thanks for responding anyway. Happy myLotting!

Well, the color/number of the star depends on the rating of the user or 'mylot reputation'
The star is blue with number 10 in it if the rating was 95 above, red (9) if 85-94, yellow (8) if 75-84, and so on. You will see the rating when you point the cursor on the star.

So the star is like a "status symbol" at myLot. It makes me even more motivated to get my star soon. But of course I realized now that it's not easy, it entails hard work as well.

I see a lot of people having blue and red stars on their name. I would be happy with any star, so I guess I have to keep on myLotting. thanks for the answer, you've been very helpful.

Thanx boogerman for the detailed info. Even i wanted to know all about the stars and the numbers in it. As i will also soon reach the 100 mark, lets hope i get a star ...hehe.
So this positive or negative rating is given by the tread starter, is int it??

Well, it's your own choice if you want to participate on those kinds of discussions, just take the risk of getting negative rating. As I had mentioned on my response, if others do not agree with your opinion, they might give you negative and take note that the rating can also affect the earning aside from the quality of the post.

Points well taken. While I've already read the FAQ and guidelines, most of the things you and the other respondents mentioned are not found there, or maybe I wasn't looking hard enough? Either way, you are speaking from experience and I'd give it as much credit as those in the guidelines. They will surely help me in going around here. Thanks a lot for responding.
