Christmas Time!

After Christmas sales are great. Fitz and Floyd I've heard of but I can't really remember what they make. Platters? Candies maybe... is it? Well Sorry for my naive' ness. I appreciate the response! So you can check off your sister's gift from the list!

Well Christmas in July has been a popular saying here. Lol, of course year round a person can shop for Christmas, but it takes Christmas spirit sometimes to get the ball going! I appreciate your response to me!

Lol I realize not everyone shops that early, and I'll be honest in saying I don't either. I might once my fiance and I have a good money flow coming in, just to keep from the buying rush, and the debt people have towards Christmas. Christmas is a great celebration but I realize that in some countries Christianity and the meaning of Christmas isn't as grand because of there being more people from a different religion. So your the minority, I think I've read you get pressure from that where you live am I correct? Well have a wonderful and lovely day!

Well I hope you can get the hours you need in! That's pretty cool about the Christmas Club Account, I've heard of those but never seen them at the banks I've banked at. It'd be a great idea for gifts etc, and it'd be money you never even missed to. Maybe you can get one at your new bank, or think of a innovative way to do it at home too, lol.

Lol well to be honest I started this topic because I knew it was one people would come to. Of course I know people also shop this early, and I'd probably be doing the same had we the money. Lol, well actually I haven't seen a bustle of people where I live, but we live in a small community so I don't guess there's ever really a bustle until Christmas time. Yes, I have started my shopping for Christmas as I do every year early. I have always enjoyed Christmas and so I think about it year round. Strongheart, do you realize that some people only have a few dollars left each month and so in order to buy gifts for family members they must start early? That is the way it is here.

I do realize that people shop throughout the year, including at after Christmas sales and that many have limited budgets. Thus I mentioned nothing of the sort! I said I despise the commercialism of the holiday and in fact dread the coming of August because it used to be we looked forward to Labor Day in august but every year the commercials and Christmas music start a little earlier. Mark my words, soem will start in August to get a jump on those who started in September last year. What used to be a very special time of year for family and religious observation has become nothing more than a reason for advertisers to inundate us with Christmas music until we are physically ill so they can sell more!

It's not people's spirit I dislike, it's their lack of it and turning something that used to mean something into something I loathe!

Kind of like feeling guilty for waiting so long to get gifts? hmm. Oh and I bet there's a crowd about huh! I like to get gifts early. I appreciate the response.

Where in NC were you? My fiance and I live in a small town. There's a mall in another county, one of the stores is Bath and Body works, is that the one your talking about? I love to shop for sales, but rarely buy anything because we have no money. Oh and shopping for gifts at any time of the year for any occasion is great too, lol, it doesn't have to be for Christmas, you can store... birthday presents, mother's and father's day... lol any day.

Ah! Lol it seems that many people who have responded think it a bit strange to start so early. I don't think it is, but I understand that monetarily wise and even storing wise, it can be difficult to start so early. Glad you have, and I'm sure your having loads of fun doing it. I always enjoy reading about different traditions in different countries. I know that here in America a lot of people start at different times of the year. I only mention Christmas in July as that is when some stores decide to put out their Christmas items. Yes I am very much more anticipating my upcoming wedding, Christmas is also important but is the second thing financially on my mind. Oh we won't be able to afford anything until after our wedding. I know that I was nervous the first holiday season with my fiance and his parents. Now though we're family, and I'm not at all nervous about it. I'm sure it will go better then you expect. Unless you mean your nervous because of the state of the economy and jobs being lost?
