What are your views on religion?

I believe that religion is just an institution of control.It's meant to segregate people into groups,it breaks unity,its a political means which some people exercise to remain in power.I'm a Hindu but its not that I rigidly follow my religion.One should be aware of the pros and cons,the good and the bad sides of one's religion.Religion often builds up superstitions and it depends on us whether or not we can see through these and keep ourselves on the right track.There is no "real" religion,every religion has certain tenets which should be followed and some which shouldn't.We have to be judicious.As to God,I do believe that there is some higher power but I'm do not place blind faith in Him.I feel what's most important is to have faith in yourself,your conviction and to feel a sense of love for everyone around.That will make you a better human being rather than chanting prayers and visiting temples and churches to purge you of your sins!

My view on religion is that I dont discuss it with friends...it almost always turns into a debate and since we all have our OWN beliefs we should just leave it at that and move on.

I believe that whatever religion, whatever gd one follows . it is a personal choice . .and that choice is to be respected by anyone who comes into contact with that person . . But most important we are to each show everyone TOLERANCE.

I do not strongly believe in the presence of a Higher power. I'm an agnostic. But I strongly feel, all religions are man-made. Still, I won't say they're utter useless or anything close to that. There are some great things which religions only can explain. In those regards, I'm a total admirer of the eastern religions- Sanatan Dharma, Jainism, Buddhism etc. However, the basic reason I ain't much in favor of their western counterparts is their intolerance, proselytization and the enforcement of too many rules. They actually make a monster out of God, for me. So, it would be much better if they calm down a bit on their religions and give more preference to rationale and intellect, instead of believing and forcing others to believing in an imaginary, third party hypothetical God. God is actually a beautiful concept, although I don't believe in His presence. I'd say S/He/It is a great useful illusion. Religions are supposed to capitalize on this point; instead the western religions have apparently made a mess of it all.
