Be more friendly to new members.

I don't really know when we would no longer see ourselves as new.
Maybe after 100 posts...a 1000,maybe it's a time thing rather than a post count..who knows?

I am not familiar with every rule but did read through all the regulations again earlier to refresh myself.

There are actually quite a few that I had forgotten.

You were nice to me as a newb.. and I hope will still be nice to me!

Maybe an older pic of MJ would be better. That one just doesnt do it. I actually liked the other Avatar better. But I suppose if you like the MJ one go with it, but you will so miss out on all the ladies that would come banging on your door.

What will it take to give this discussion a jump start to liven it up.....commenting on 'ex' members responses????
I am trying to prove a point to some disbelieving members who refuse to believe in my past experiments

I agree, I read the discussion guidelines when I became a member and still managed to violate most of them without even noticing. They are open to interpretation in many areas and my view of the rules was slightly different to mylots view!!
We were all new once and we have all probably been helped by other members so we should try and pass on our experience to newer members.

Awe you poor thing, Some folks can just be so mean and rotten. I have seen a few folks in here that use to be that way, they wouldnt even try and be nice. Everyone should have there own opinion. It is a free world, and I think mylot wants us to have our own opinions.

Some topics generate alot of heat.
A newer member posting in certain sections could well get a rough time on a sensitive subject.
I would leave those subjects alone as a very new member and wait until I had more experience here before venturing into hostile territory!!

In my drunken state I nearly went all over it commenting on all your responses as there were some that were begging to be commented on in a special way!!

Luckily I didn't as you wouldn't be saying such nice things to me now!!

I'm going back to have a look at that discussion now as I found it highly entertaining.

Just thought I would let you know that you have to comment on the responses to your discussion in order to earn anything from it.

I suppose it comes down to what we feel is the right thing to do.
I don't like reporting things but do see that sometimes there is a need to report a member for certain violations.

Some people just have a lower reporting threshold than others!!

I'll just let u do the reporting & i'll mind my own buisness.

I rarely report anything!!
In the whole time I have been here (both times) I have only reported a couple of things.
I prefer to mind my own business too!

It's a shame everybody on here doesn't do that.

Try and watch out for people copying other members discussions,adding content as their own original work when it obviously isn't,trolls who deliberately set out to cause trouble and spammers as these are the most harmful things in my opinion.

I would report these types of activities without question but leave the other minor stuff alone. That is only my opinion and how I look at things and realise other members will have a different view of rule breaking and how to deal with it.

To really get to know this site takes a long time.
There are alot of things about it which aren't so obvious to see unless you have been here a while or are very active.

The guidelines and other rule type stuff is a little boring I agree
It really is important to read them though as they provide most of the information needed to get the best from the site.
I would say the discussion guidelines are a must for new members to read asap and then read the other things gradually over a period of a few days.
I hope you are still enjoying this site as it is surely the best of it's kind on the net

The best thing for you to do is go to the mylot section in the bar at the top of the screen and read all the guidelines.
If you have any problems just ask and someone will help you.
