Any big plans for the Fourth of July next week?   

if you can find a way to Austin, we're going out to the roomie's folk's place and they always have room for one more, or even 3 or 4 more, if we bring along some goodies

at least I'll be off since its a Saturday!

I am pretty certain that we will be going to see my brother in Oklahoma. I need to get away, really away. Of course that is if I can shake this nasty cold.

our holiday is july 1 here in canada and we have a lot of options to do stuff which cost little or no money, however, the day is supposed to be rainy so even if they have fireworks, chances are they will be cancelled.

Well I am from the UK so no not really. I am going away and coming back on the 4th of July though. I have a friend who's family is American and they always put their flag up outside but they don't have fireworks or anything. Stupidly the biggest country celebration we have in England is St. Patricks day which is the patron saint of Ireland.

Here I sit close enough to washington D.c. that I could get to the fireworks and I will probably stay home and watch a movie.back in the day , i would go with my sister and se the fireworks.We would take the metro. Back then,you could bring your own drinks and the crowd was , how should I say this?, more rowdy. But now it is a dry event.The drunks are not there! Why go? I remember one year it was so hot and it took so long to get to the subway that the drunks started singing Jingle Bells.classic.Last year I stayed home and watch John Adams mini series.this year. Who knows.

I'm Canadian, and my husband is American. We like to try and celebrate eachother's holidays. It'll be a whole patriotic week since Canada Day is July 1st. :) So we will celebrate both days, probably with cake decorated with flags, and maybe a picnic at the park just up the street.

My family doesn't have any big plans. Maybe just grill something in the backyard, make s'mores and watch the local fireworks.

Always have room for one more! We'll buy a couple of extra steaks for ya! We'll probably be doing the fireworks rounds too. Funny thing in Oklahoma. It's legal to buy fireworks...but I have yet to find a place where it's legal to set them off. Isn't that silly? This weekend we had a 3-day jazz festival. Enjoyed seeing Judy Carmichael there, she was terrific!

My daughter is planning a get together with a few friends. Of course it's not just 4th of July, it will also be my son-in-law's birthday, house-warming, and the last weekend we have together before I leave for Texas. So should be a fun day, and we'll probably go to the Army base to watch the fireworks show, military style. So, if ya got a driver's license and registration.......you can get on post to see the fireworks show!By the way, when you say 'covering', do you work for a newspaper or ?
