Seriously, I WILL miss Billy Mays |
| |
| I'm not kidding or mocking anyone else's feelings in the wake of the recent deaths of stars, OK? I mean what I say. When I found out this morning that Billy Mays had died I felt bad, 1)because he was so young, 2) because he really was a generous guy and 3) because I'm going to miss his enthusiasm. In case you don't know who I'm talking about, the link is http://tv.msn.com/tv/arti... and it's a good write up. NOT A REFERAL !!! Q: Does his death affect you in any way? Just asking. | | | | | |

| | Yeah, I was sad to hear about him passing away. He did seem like a really nice person from what I could tell. And he did have a lot of enthusiasm for what he did. Too bad he died. | | | | | | |

| | He didn't only seem to be a real nice person; from what I hear HE REALLY WAS! I didn't know him personally but I understand he was really friendly, helpful and generous as well. The article said so too. You're right, "Too bad." http://www.asseenontvvideo.com/Billy-Mays.html | | | |

| | When I found out last night that he had passed I was so amazed. He was always enthusiastic on this commercials. The circumstances of his death are definitely strange and I hope they can figure out just what caused him to pass. I know that there has been a lot of people with opinions on the recent deaths, so the death of Billy Mays will probably not miss the same scrutiny the others have. I hope that his family is coping with his death well, his wife found him and called 911, so I've heard on t.v. | | | | | | |

| | I hope they don't rule that out as a cause of death either. Although the article you have posted under your last comment says heart failure. I just hope they get the answers they deserve. | | | |

| | I didn't even know that he died until I signed in to MyLot today. Thats so sad. He really was very good at what he did. I swear he made me want to buy almost everything he was selling. He seemed liked he was a nice man in real life too. My heart goes out to his family & friends. | | | | | | |

| | I understane exactly what you're saying. I felt pretty much the same and sort of got a kick out of him and his positive disposition all the time. The information out there is that he was indeed a really nice person. Yes, condolences to the family. | | | |

| | I saw a tv special on him that he always tried out the products first, and was not lot of informercial specialists who do not. But in retrospect, I saw the last commercial he must have made and he did not look at all well. In fact he had the same look my brother-in-law had not long before he died. So he had been obviously sick for some time. It is a shame that people say what the heck when he died but for someone like Michael Jackson it is a tragedy. Both men died at the same age and who will be missed more? I think Billy Mays was the braver man. With his heart disease, he could have stayed at home and taken a nice safe job. | | | | | | |

| | That's definitely a different point of view, I hadn't noticed a difference in him, but I did find out in the article that he was due for hip replacement surgery TODAY(!) Who'd a thought! So he was taking pain medication. Plus, let's not forget the new program he was recording, which would also take its toll. | | | |

| | Well, I didn't know anything more about him other than his pitching different products on TV. It will most definitely feel strange without him doing that anymore. Of all the TV spokesmen selling these things we absolutely can't live without, I have to say he was the least obnoxious of the lot! I also liked the fact that the things he was pitching on TV were things that I actually WOULD buy, not those stupid commercials where everyone is nodding their heads while using those "wonderful" products or looking retarded when they couldn't water a plant without spilling water everywhere or weeding around one tomato plant! I will miss him, too. | | | | | | |

| | You know? He may very well have been among the nicest guys in the world. But I really could not stand this guy coming on the commercial and yelling at me. I decided a long time ago that no product was worth it if it insulted my meagre intelligence. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I am not stupid and do not need to be insulted that way. By all reports, he was generous, hard working and a devoted husband. For those losses I feel bad for his family and friends. 50, is just far too young for a fellow like him to die. Some people push the limits of the body's endurance and they die. And others, die for what may seem like no reason at all. From the reports, he may have simply worked himself to death. Will we really know? | | | | | | |

| | I agree, I don't like being yelled at during an infomercial. I would immediately switch the channel when I reached Billy. Still, his commercials were so prevalent he must have been a great salesman and he was too young to die. It is a shame he wasn't aware of his heart disease. One has to wonder if he knew would he have chosen a different path? How could you be engaged in a career where you must work yourself up to a feverish pitch. I would think his stress level and blood pressure must have been through the roof! | | | |

| | Heart disease is another quiet killer. Many people with it, don't know they have it and show no signs of it. In his case, the signs were showing, jusyt too late and still too subtly for anyone to suspect something like it. Stress is a killer though. I am well aware of the pressure that sustained stress can put on you. In fact, MS is one of those things that they just don't know what the cause of is. Some have speculated that it could be viral. Well, if that's the case, a virus can lay dormant for decades as long as the host stays strong. But sustained stress weakens the host allowing for a bloom of the virus. I suspect, that the maturity onset of the MS in my body, is a direct result of the sustained stress I put myself through. Can't prove it, but this is what I think anyway. I am literally paying for the sins of my youth. I have to wonder if that's exactly what Billy did to himself. Big, strong and otherwise healthy, he drove himself hard I bet. | | | |

| | Yes, I saw your discussion just now. I had posted this one before I realized there were others already, such as http://www.mylot.com/w/di... NOT A REFERRAL ! I find it amusing about your son. My daughters are well aware and acquainted with MJ but they were at least just as shocked at Billy's death! I think he's going to be missed tremendously by many people. Like you, I found him highly entertaining. But, about what killed him, I sincerely hope they investigate it thoroughly for his family's sake. But I already talked about that above. R.I.P. | | His death is a tragedy, but it doesn't have any direct effect on me. I enjoyed his commercials and he was very fun to watch. I will surely miss him but I'm not losing sleep over his death. | | | | | | |
