How the other half live! They don't have a clue do they, we are only common people and she is the queen and what the queen wants she gets, (Wolfie laughs!) I was flabbergasted, doesn't she read the papers, doesn't she watch the news? Er queenie don't you know that this country is going downhill fast thanks to the Labour party and the greedy politicians screwing every penny they can in expenses. I really wonder sometimes why we need a monarchy? It's not cost effective. Do you realize how many people we could house in those mansions and houses they have? The money they waste and the money we give them. You really have got me on my soap box here. I wonder if the queen should go and sign on, maybe she'll get a few extra benefits and see what it's like to be a pensioner living on a meagre state pension. Grrrrrrrr nuff said.

In this case forwarded by that news, I agree with your points of disliking or disagreement for the said unnecessary request made by the Queen. That is why, nowadays many people flummox on kingdom or Queendom matter and its feudal system issue. They live and enjoy laurel status 100% on tax payers money with no rendering helps to the poor people or unfortunate group in their own country.

I hope in near future UK will be a true United Kingdom ruled by The President of UK and no more for Prime Minister title. History already proven to The Republic of China where people live peacefully without the Dynasty King system.

I couldn't agree more with your sentiments, I have always believed that the British monarchy should be abolished as it is an archaic feudal concept. Why should people like that think they deserve respect or funding from the people because of an accident of birth, why have so many English people not objected to their taxes being spent on this type of society scrounger. There is also the issue of funding for their security which is astronomical, let them live in the real world.

Yes,i have seen many unfair situation around the world.Not only in your country,in my country also have many cruel and unreasonable leader like your queen.Wht they do for citizen?They just give empty promises and then take profit on the citizen.I cannot see why people still choose them as the leader and let they rule us...i wish all the leader will awake from their bad intuition and help the citizen before they get the bad effect.

My husband is from Sheffield and I spend a lot of time there. I am not saying get rid of the monarchy but good grief the Queen and that deadbeat she is married to have enough money to support any lifestyle they want without hitting up the taxpayers for every penny they can get. This is disgusting - let her pay her own way out of the millions she has stashed - or let then cut down on their staff - that would save enough to maintain her HOUSE. No where does she live in a house - castles and mansions is more like it. Let her spend a couple of months on Parson Cross Estate in Sheffield. The Sheffield city council benefits department would have a bsll with that. Their incompetent paper shufflers would generate enough useless paperwork to save a forest. Your majesty - get into the real world.

I totally endorse your sentiments . when the world is in the grips of a long drawn out recession when thousands of people are rendered homeless as well as jobless in her native country,the queen like a spoiled child as asks for something that doesnot befit her. She should behave in a manner which is seemly for a queen that is expressing solidarity for her subjects and making some efforts to aid the poor and the downtrodden . Its akin to the situation when the queen of france told her subjects to eat cake even when there was no bread available which highlighted her ignorance and apathy towards her subjects . Subsequently she got beheaded in the French Revolution . I am not suggesting anything remotely that radical .All I am saying is,keeping in mind the current global sentiments she should have behaved in a more responsible manner

there is nothing wrong with the queen asking for money because she receives much more visitors all over the world but i don't support any money should be given to her to maintain her palace, i believe her children are working and should take the burden for that, so money should be given to her to entertain is retinue of visitors only

That is a good idea to put the money into housing for the homeless. I think priorities are twisted these days. Everyone is having to downsize in one way or another, and it would be nice if the Queen would downsize a bit also, and in doing so, let go of a few of the staff and servants.

Guess I am biased as I am a royalist so think the Royal family are well worth the money that is spent on them. Would much rather have the queen as head of state than the likes of Bush or Obama. The state does also pay rent for those on the dole, and will pay mortgages after about ten months I seem to recall after my time on the dole.

Also nothing wrong in being a servant, they can after all be well paid jobs. I agree that there are too many homeless people in this country but how many homes are sitting empty at the moment as well?
