What if there'll be a Mylot Fund-raising for the LESS FORTUNATE... |
| |
| What if there'll be a mylot fund-raising for the less-fortunate, would you support? Would you be willing to shell out something, like old clothes, some lil amount of money for the fund-raising to be able to help less fortunate people in your city/state/country or your own neighborhood right now? I would love to and would be more than willing to support. I would even love to take a lead to be able to help less-fortunate people anywhere in the world. Not just here in my own country. I really like to do something for them especially if they are really those in NEED. What about you, would you be willing to support? Share your opinions here. Thank you! | | | | | |

| | That sounds like a really good idea. I have in the past donated my old clothes to Good Will which is a place that resells clothes for a good price. I don't really know a lot of neighbors in my neighborhood. Except for the couple that lives to the right side of me. They are a pretty nice couple. | | | | | | |

| | I would really like to start something out for the less-fortunate here in the Philippines since it's quite impossible for me to reach out for people from the other countries but I'd also like to start a group here at mylot that would help and support less-fortunate people who are really in need. We can probably give them clothes and food from some lil amount we could shell out from members here at mylot. | | | |

| | Can I be honest? While globally is a great idea, I'd rather do something for the community. I'd rather know that the money is going to where it's supposed to be and know that it's not a scam to get money, clothing or food, when the person or people don't really need it. I think that also it brings a community closer together and brings a bond to the churches, to the schools, etc. Well I appreciate this discussion. I hope you get a lot of good responses, this is definitely a good idea. | | | | | | |

| | Your idea is good too. And my main focus is not about giving out some money to the directly. It's in case mylot has its own foundation and some people would like to give some lil amount like a dollar or 2 which wont hurt much, I guess, I would be very willing to suggest on buying some of the things those less-fortunate people really need than give them some money. That is if mylot has a specific Foundation. If not, yes, starting at our own communities would be a good start. You could already be able to help so much with that. By the way, thanks for responding. I'm really interested on having one like this - a foundation of helping less-fortunate people around the globe, that's why. | | | |

| | I would feel better giving things to charities, yes. Even then sometimes people could be scamming you and making you think there is a foundation but there really isn't. It's sad that these things happen but they do. Giving money and clothing and food to the less fortunate is great. There is a Give a Kid a Coat foundation where those who are needy of coats can receive old coats from people. You just take them to a specific cleaner, lol. Thi is around the winter holiday season though. | | | |

| | As for me, since I'm in the Philippines, I'd like to start a group that could gather up some old clothes or slightly used clothes or clothes that we never use anymore because we have new ones - then we give it to those people in need. That is my idea. | | | |

| | Salvation Army and Good Will are for those things. It's not for free, but people can buy them for cheap, lol. There's a site called Freecycle and it's through Yahoo Groups, or some are atleast. I get the emails for the one in my area and there are some good things being given away for free. | | | |
