Do you get a chance to.... |
|
My husband is on vacation this week from work and it has been great having him at home to help with the kids. It seems that he has been setting up the inflatable pool, going with our oldest son to buy their fireworks, and yesterday I went to the store by myself. Today he tells me to watch television with him but the minute I sat down to watch tv he got up to ask for a corn on the cob. He asked me how I fixed it ....
I got up to do it for him and before you know it 3-4 hours later I was cooking, washing dishes, washing clothes, putting things away, getting the kids drinks.... When I would pass by he was just laying down and relaxing on the sofa. I have finally gotten to sit down but now he is watching something I don't want to see. I guess that is how I got on the computer.
Do moms ever really get to watch tv anymore?

I remember moms were big on things like soap operas and game shows like the price is right. But, other things just take priority these days. Life is so busy, busy, busy. And, with the invention of the pc, many moms spend free time online. (Just as you decided to do) Maybe because you can feel somewhat productive online. When watching tv, some moms might feel guilty because they're not doing much. I often look forward to days when I can lay in bed, take it easy and watch Law & Order or a good movie. Days like this don't seem to come to fruition though. More often, than not, the tv is watching me.

One day my husband took the kids to his mom which lives an hour away. Well I spent the first half cleaning, then took a shower to watch tv. I thought he would come back late in the evening but he was home by 3pm. I see my husband just resting when he gets home after work. I don't have him do stuff for me or the kids since he worked but it's hard on me because all day long I am running around.

4. Ricki911 (1099) | 5 months ago | Im not a mother but I remember when I was younger my mother barely got to watch TV. I think fathers should be able to do some of housework and helping the children out. I know so many ppl that the mother does all the work and the fatehr goes to work comes home and sits around.

andalond (3388) | 5 months ago | My husband has learned over the years that I like to do things when possible. I accept that it's the role I have since I have stayed home. I think when he sees that I can't do it then something must be extremely wrong with me, like lately that I have had anemia. I love to help out, especially at my mother in law's I help her wash dishes, prepare food, etc. She has custody of her daughter's youngest children and most of the time her daughter just sits and watches tv. She lets her mom do all the work for her kids.
