42. anulakshman (110) | 5 months ago | i won't trust the stranger in offline as well as online.
i may give the email address to the stranger online, but not the one which i use regularly.
i have created separate email address which i use for signing in some websites. Also one important think i do is i won't keep the same password for both the emails.

There isn't THAT much someone can do with your e-mail address, unless they have plans to access it for themselves. Assuming you keep your e-mail address well secured (there's measures you can follow for this), then that shouldn't be a problem.

mysdianait (11885) | 5 months ago | Welcome to myLot Suffertree!
I wonder if you read through the responses before responding or whether I should suggest that things that are not immediately obvious. The Terms on myLot tell us not to post personal information in discussions for our own benefit. The discussions are picked by search engines leaving us vulnerable to hackers, spammers, scammers and the like but ALSO to all the evil creatures out there who bait youngsters for many of the things which do not immediately spring to mind. According to your profile you are also under age and therefore you probably forget such things. We have private Messages which can be used to exchange personal details and they will remain private.
Please take time to read here: http://www.mylot.com/o/mylot.aspx so that you can be aware of how to get the best from myLot and avoid mistakes which could cause you loss of posts and earnings.
Happy Lotting and have fun!

| Suffertree (8) | 5 months ago | First of all, just because a person is "underage" doesn't mean they forget things. Just because someone's young doesn't mean they're stupid. I know the dangers of the Internet quite well.
More to the point, my original repsonse didn't question the ToS of MyLot at all. I was more responding to the statement you made in your original post.
"How the heck can you trust a perfect stranger offline - so why do it here?"

45. GardenGerty (20193) | 5 months ago | I do not post any of that in my MyLot discussions. I do, on rare occasions trade e mail addresses with people I have come to know on the site, but it is not public. If I happen to also know someone's address, I certainly do not give it out online.

| 46. tonythetigerx (13) | 5 months ago | You have to smart about it. Yes I would give my email to a stranger but not my personal email, I would use a secondary email for that. You have to make sure that you don't give out personal information if you aren't sure about it

47. Porcospino (2613) | 5 months ago | I would never ever give my private email to a stranger or write it on an online forum, but I have created an email account (my junk email) that I use when I am communicating with strangers. It doesn't contain any personal information like my real name, and I use it as a kind of "filter". When I get in touch with new people they always get that address. When I get to know the person better, I might give them my private email, but they never get it straight away. If I get a lot of spam or other bad things just I close the junk account and open a new one. I am very careful when I open new mails, I don't want to get a virus or something like that. When I am in doubt I just delete the mails without opening them.
I wouldn't write my junk email in a discussion though. Even if we were allowed to do it it wouldn't feel comfortable about it, but I am not afraid to give my junk email to people I don't know for instanse in a PM.

48. iamsolucky (1178) | 5 months ago | Its not safe to share important informations like that all over the internet or to one stranger on net. It can be used and access illegally, and this world knows that a lot of people are doing that already so beware and take care. For me, i only give my email address to people i know. i also give it to legit sites. This is a world where illegal doings are now in higher rate. there are lots of emails that i recieve stating they need money, they can deposit it to my account and so on. One word to remember, just " delete" it. Just ignore it, never reply anymore. For personal and important informations like, bank accounts, home address, they are actually the most sensitive information. So keep them safe online. happy mylotting and smile always!

50. marinarovi (702) | 5 months ago | Hi Diana! long time no see... I usually don't trust online and/or offline strangers. But anyway I use a different email account for mylot than the one I use for friends or work, and this one doesn't have accurate personal info anyway. anyway, what can they do with your email besides spamming? I'm not really sure how dangerous it might actually be, I just try not to publish it everywere just in case, you know. see you around, take care!

marinarovi (702) | 5 months ago | Well, I read a lot of "I never give my adddress" comments, sorry about that. No, I don't have any youngsters... I'm a youngster! (ok, not so young anymore, snif) and I have my junk email for this kind of people, and still I don't publish it everywere or give it to everyone that asks.
