What is your favorite kind of book?

Sci-Fi and War novels pretty much, but I'll read anything if I have nothing else to read.

i like mystery and adventure books. I like mystery becasue I like the challenge of solving the mystery as I read.

I love self help books. There's a book I always love to read and always sets me in the mood for some challenged. It's entitled Daring Female's Guide to Ecstatic Living. It contains lots of challenges you can choose from - about life, career, lovelife etc. It's a fun book to read. But when it comes to reading stories, I prefer suspense and romantic genre. Somehow, they're good for escapism.

When I was a kid I was a real mystery fanatic..going back to my love to Nancy Drew...then graduated to Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, Nero Wolfe...Now I tend to read fantasies, sci-fi and LOVE children's/young adult books...I'm on the fourth book of the Dark Is Rising Series by Susan Cooper (there are five). I love anything with a "magical" nature to it...uh, why I'm a Harry Potter fan, and Lord of The Rings and Chronicles of Narnia. Most of my short stories I've written are on a magical/fantasy theme

Previously, I like to read novels regarding to romance, and I like to read something about love and relationship. And recently, I like to read fiction a lot, it really brings me to some place which is quite fantastic and amazing, I really like it. When reading a fiction, I always find myself obsessing in it and feel so good.

There are a lot of good books. When I was a new Christian, my favorite to read was my bible. When I came to know about financial education, I want to read books on money, business, and finances. Right now, I am still into reading my bible, but most of the time I am reading business books. My desire is to be educated about money, business, finances, and leadership for me to be successful in my business!

Hi SH! For me it is way easier to tell you what I DON'T like... cause I pretty much like any thing that 'grabs' my attention. I am ADHD so get bored real easy with a story that is going nowhere. I do NOT like science fiction, it's just too far fetched for me to get into it. The story though for me has to really 'grab' my attention in the first 3-5 pages or I won't read it....Lori

i'm really not much into books,
but i think school books ( because i have to) and self help books and of course any books as long as it's interesting.
school books, because i learn many things from it, i just wish that it will retain in my mind. hehe
self help books, because it's very useful, though you don't talk or ask for an advice from others, just find a book that suits to your problem, then that's it but of course the author must be a reliable one.
and of course interesting books, as long as it will not make me fall asleep then it's okay with me.

I go through phases...for years it was romance, then fantasy, science fiction, drama, and now I prefer books with more of a supernatural bent, something like "The Book of Lost Things" by John Connolly. That truly is one of the best books I've ever read....
