Imagine that you are able to read minds... How whould it be?

It would be great in some situations. In court the criminals would be shown as guilty or innocent very quickly. I could find out what people are thinking at any time of the day. In some cases that would be soooo creepy considering how some people i know think!!

I'm sure there would be a lot of things that I'd really rather not know!! It would be very helpful to tune into the thoughts of people who are unable to communicate through some sort of disability or medical condition. To be able to tell medical staff what those people were feeling would be a major breakthrough. Also, you'd find out who your real friends were and you'd not waste your time sitting through a whole interview if you 'heard' the interviewer thinking you were rubbish but, it could cause problems if you told other people things you'd discovered that they didnt want to hear... like how their "friends" felt about them.

That's an interesting concept.
I was a newspaper reporter a very long time ago, and I quit because I was not comfortable prying into others' lives. I don't like other to pry, nor do I want to pry. If I had this power, I think I'd try to find a way to get rid of it. We can all share what we choose to share and maintain privacy for everything else.

If I possess this kind of power, to be able to read minds, I definitely know who is my enemy, and who is my friend. I will find out whether my girlfriend really love me or not. Or other girls have good feeling toward me or not. It is definitely an advantage. Thanks to the movie "what woman wants", by Mel Gibson.

If I had the power of reading minds I hope it is at will.
I will prevent evil when I can and why not, win the lotto, or it will be to help me make money, it will be neat.
I for one do not want to read the minds of my loved ones tho.
That's just asking for a broken heart.

It would be really good for playing games like Poker against other people because you know what tactical move they will use next. But I guess it would be annoying if you were in a crowded room and hearing so many people's minds at the same time.

The power would be useless if you could no longer become close to another person. You would be lonely and eventually become cynical and reclusive to stop the noise in your head. I say you would probably go insane. All people have a love-hate relationship with individuals, whether they like, love or dislike them. Knowing someone you love does not like something about you will destroy your relationship. So think twice about wanting to wake up with a new "power" that would leave you isolated. Nice question - made me think a bit.

It would be awsome. to know exactlly what there thinking and wanting.

Thats one of the special abilities I want. I wouldnt use it for evil or cheating in games like poker.

If I could prevent caos I would do my best to prevent it.

On this show True Blood this girl Sookie is able to hear peoples thoughts it is awsome.

Haha i think it's cool that we are able to read the minds of others,but it can get negative too.Because once we are able to read their minds and know some of their secrets or problems,we may want to try and help them,i am not saying that helping is bad,but when the numbers increases and you get to know that more people needed help,we will get very busy and tired because of trying to help all of them.And So,there's both pros and cons.

Being able to hear or communicate with others with the mind has been a device in Science fiction for a long time,and ideas on the concept have both advantages and disadvantages. Being only able to receive thoughts without control over what you do receive could conceivably drive you mad,never being able to shut it off or again have the privacy of your own thoughts..If Control was possible,so that you could select who to tune in on,it would be like a superpower,and so could be used for good or evil..a crimefighter would have an advantage,but so would a criminal.Relationships would change drastically.the thoughts of your closest loved ones would be an open book..could you feel the same way about someone,knowing they could have access to all of your secrets? Everyone has things in their past they'd rather keep that way."The Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy" books had a planet of people who were enlightened,peaceful,and smug about it.Then one day the entire population became able to hear thoughts,completely destroying their serenity,and they discovered conversation and entertainment noise was able to blank out some of the background thoughts of others,so they went from quiet,peaceful and reserved to a chattering,gossippy mob,and took to hosting concerts by the incredibly loud rock band "Disaster Area" to block out thoughts, who were so loud,they didn't even stand on the same planet as their sound system,they played from a well insulated spaceship in orbit,and sometimes around yet another planet!
