How bad were the crowd where you went for the fourth of July?  |

 I don't know if we have ever passed a resort area during the 4th of July before but this Saturday we did. I have never seen the place so full. Already by 4:30 people were beginning to settle on the lawn along the highway to see the fireworks. They did have picnic items with them. There were trucks and cars parked along the highway which is the first time I ever saw that. My daughter said she wanted to go get her mail but there wasn't a parking spot to be found. She said she would wait until Monday to go get her mail.

1.  baileycows (3409) | 6 months ago |  Yes it was crowded. We went to the fireworks by the levee on Saturday night. However we could not even get to the leveee you would have had to park a mile a way and walk. I have never seen so many people. So me and my hubby drove to the other side of the river and parked and walked up on the bridge. We had to see them from a distance, but they were still beautiful and when it was over we were not blocked in for hours. I think our new position will be on the bridge from now on we really enjoyed it.

| 2. lulu1220 (431) | 6 months ago |  I was not feeling so great on the 4th so I stayed home. Normally fourth of July gatherings are crazy. There are too many people and then there is a lot of traffic when you try to leave. I dread this so much every year. Some places will do something the weekend before. The weekend prior to July 4th we saw some fireworks at my sister in laws house by just stepping outdoors. No traffic to deal with. It was wonderful.

3.  deebomb (9010) | 6 months ago |  We didn't go out to any of the big displays around town. a friend of my grandson invited us over for a cook out and the boys lit the fire works out in the yard. Apparently a lot of people stayed home and did the same thing because one could see fire works all around us. I love the display that the military post here puts on but don't like fighting the crowd so we just went to his friends. The boys had bought a lot of them.
