Final Update S.C. Serial Killer |
| |
| Following news release July 07, 2009 http://www.gaffneyledger.com The Gaffney Ledger posted a picture of the killer and of the press conference held by local officials confirming that the man shot early yesterday morning in North Carolina was indeed the same person who killed 5 people in South Carolina over the past week. Law Officers reported that the weapon used to injure an officer when he attempted to apprehend the suspect had been confirmed as the same weapon used to murder five innocent victims. Police also found items taken during the course of the crimes in the possession of the dead man. I am happy to know my friends in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and other surrounding states are now safe from this man but offer that we should all be watchfull during these hard economic times as some people may be moved to desperation and do things to survive they may not otherwise do. I offer my prayers and condolences to those who lost loved ones in this tragedy and look forward to seeing the criminal justice system explain why this career criminal with a twenty five page rap sheet was allowed out on parole. Has this tragic event affected you? Share your thoughts. | | | | | |

| | At least he is off the streets. If he has any family, I feel sorry for them. I feel sorry for the families of the people he killed. And the towns that were on public-imposed lock down. I'm glad I have never been in a situation to be that scared. It hasn't affected me on a personal level. Just to feel sorry for those families. | | | | | | |

| | I'm sorry, but what is 'public-imposed lock down'? I have never heard that term before. | | | |

| | Sorry...it was something I came up with. It means the public imposed a lock-down on themselves. It said in one of their articles that the people said not to come visiting, because everyone had guns by the doors. | | | |

| | The public imposed lockdown could be best described as voluntary martial law! Good one Muncheelee! | | | |

| | Oh man. I heard about this on the national news, and I was like...a gated comunity, really? like how odd was that, with all those people watching out for each other. I also catalogued it as a plot idea for a book. I am sorry for that because it happened so recently. But I hear these sorts of things and I am always going 'save that one for later'. I am sorry for the families. Losing a family member to a SK is just horrible on more levels than normal murders and stuff. This guy is sick, mentally. I think that on one level he knew what he was doing, but it a psychological imparement. They have to do it to get their payoff. Its a sick payoff, lets home he gets the death penalty. If the state has it, and then lets hope it happens soon. Because a person like that deserves what they get in the end. | | | | | | |

| | Oh he already got the death penalty! The cop that tried to arrest him shot him! I documented the thing from when it started to end and have the notes as I also have an idea for a novel about this. Now I just have to get past feeling guilty for trying to capitalize on others misfortunes to write it. I guess that's why I write fiction, all my victims are not real! | | | |

| | I think the fear that every one felt in the area also ripples through to us. Sort of a sense of group survival. I think fear is very powerful and spreads just as rapidly as a virus. All over the country people began to look over their shoulders more, and lock the doors more and earlier, and suspect anything out of the ordinary. In that way, it did affect me. In my conscious, logical side, it did not except to feel sympathy for those involved. | | | | | | |
