1. kircho (382) | 5 months ago | I don't have a baby but my nephew is always happy when she see her toy. Remember, every baby likes the red colour. So buying a toy with a red colour will result in your kid to pay attention to the toy.

2. zhuhuifen46 (2677) | 5 months ago | It is very good to read stories to kids, even before they are able to understand fully. The story telling time provides opportunity to exchange love between the parent and baby, it adds to the bank of vocabulary, and instill the values without notice. The traditional fairy tales are always the best choice for little babies. Enjoy parenting.

3. archerzbaby (2539) | 5 months ago | I do this..but the dif'rence is, I invent my own stories for her everyday. It's not the usual Sleeping Beauty, Snow White kind of stories that most Moms would tell their kids before going to sleep or read about.
What I do is, I make my own stories for her. Like real life stories that I can think of during the night. Something she can also imagine herself doing with really good lessons to ponder. Like one night, I told her, there was a baby who was not doing bad things, she was given an ice cream by her Daddy because she was doing good things. Then she asked me, so Mommy, If I do good everyday, Daddy would give me something. Daddy would give me a prize for being good. Then I said, not all the time. I explained to her that being good doesn't mean that we will be given a prize all the time. It's the love of Mommy and Daddy that will never change no matter what.
So, it's like that, I like it when she can relate to what I tell her because she thinks of little things she's doing on her everyday life as a little kid slowly growing up and learning new things everyday. And when I feel that her eyes are closing, I will tell her, Mommy will give you another beautiful story tomorrow. Then goodnight kisses follow with a "hug, kiss and blow" (that's her way of saying goodnight to us, "Mommy and Daddy has to hug her, kiss her on the lips or forehead and blow" then she goes to sleep).
I've always been enjoying telling her my own bedtime stories with her. Everyday, she would really look forward for something I would be telling her before she sleeps.

sminut13 (885) | 5 months ago | it's so cool of you to invent stories. tht's such a great idea. i do that too sometimes though i read books often. there are some books that he really likes so i'm always reading them for him. i'd make up stories too if only i could hehe but reading to them is really good. even my daughter, who's only 1, needs a book to hold when i'm reading to my son. and she'll also get in position to listen though it's only for a few minutes after which she'll start turning the pages of the book that i brought for her. it's like become a habit for her and she seems to enjoy looking through books. i just hope it'll be that way as she grows older hehe

4. dragon54u (9506) | 5 months ago | I used to read to my children all the time, from the time they were inside me to when they preferred to read themselves. We read all kinds of books about animals, construction machinery (they loved big machines!) and many other things. I loved reading to my children--there's not many things better than sitting with my little boys snuggled beside me and reading a book!
They are 20 and 21 now. One is an avid reader, the other indifferent but he does very well in college.

5. purplelilac (155) | 5 months ago | My daughter loves books. She likes books with characters she knows like Dora, Elmo and The Backyardigans. She likes to look at books that teach letters and sounds and have pictures associated with the. She also had books that play music and make sounds but the books are coming apart now. It's time for new ones.

6. MNRFOLEY (188) | 5 months ago | I started buying books for my little girl since she was a baby. all kinds of childrens books I always read to her I have to say even when she was still inside my tummy I read her poetry and stories too. When I gave birth I noticed that she loved it when I read her a story made her more attentive than by merely giving her a toy. She had also developed a sharp memory and already can respond to to colors and objets around her at a very early age.:)
