desktop or laptop?  

I did love my laptop..Acer computer, really nice Dafen.
But my son owns it now LOL so I use this desktop, but it is working just fine..took some getting used to after the convenience of the laptop though.
I would say all in all, I like the laptop much better.

I have a desktop. Laptops were more expensive than my desktop, so i got it. Still have some programs that i would like to install, but again, too expensive right now. Can't seem to find a freebie or a share ware, that anyone has for Wordperfect.

I have to use both. In my office and at home, I prefer to use the desktop. But, when travelling, I have to carry along a laptop. Since I travel quite often on my business trips, I do use the laptop just as much as I use the desktop.

I use laptops too. Its just much more mobile to use but i do miss the desktops keyboard , i mean the laptop gets so hot sometimes that all your palms would get sweaty.

If you are able to find a decent laptop, it is better; especially if you need to travel. I had a laptop that I bought while I was in China and it was a piece of s--t!!! I wish I had not spent the money on it. I finally purchased a desktop when I returned to America and it is a lot better. I do eventually want to get a good laptop, and the price is almost to a point where I can afford it. One reason I want to get a laptop is so that there can be two of us on the computer at one time. I could be on the laptop in my room and my niece can be on the desktop in the living room or the other way around. Thanks for bringing up the topic.

I own a desktop conmputer, I use to own a laptop, but I started having problems with my laptop, so I went and brought me a another desktop, I like desktop better because, if I have problems with my desktop, I have a niece who can fix my desktop comput, but when I had problem with my laptop, my niece couldn't fix the laptop,

All i have is a desk top & proud i have that. I don't know anything about laptops. guess it's just what u get use to.

i think same you, i like laptop because it can move to anywhere i stay.in my house have both desk top for my son using, i think desktop can add speed and hardwere inside, but laptop can't to do that.for me laptop is enough.

Each one has it's uses. The gap is narrowing now that laptops come with much bigger hard drives and can be as fast as any other computer. Still for some things I still prefer my desktop. I have a full keyboard, a bigger monitor, and a computer that I build myself with hubby, so I know exactly what is there, and that was built according to my preferences. ( for example, I am more interested in graphics, I need a good videocard, good memory size to keep all the stuff I make, etc., my daughter prefers to listen to music and chat to her friends, she needs a better sound card than I do, since I hardly listen to music. My soon's preference is games....and my husband's is a mix of everything so we know we can buy the best possible component for each one of us ).
Building a laptop is a bit more complicated and there are still less choices - for now - so it takes away a bit. Sure we can choose a laptop geared towards we prefer, but price them can become an issue.
On the other hand, laptops are great for traveling given the portablility. We can just sit down comfortably in the sofa and go on mylotting :)
As I said, it really depends and each one has it's uses.
And of course when we have to choose only one, then, often a laptop can be a better choice.
For me, I have both and really like it that way:)

I like to have a desktop at home with a bigger screen, it helps your eyes and feels good when watch movies online.
I like to have a laptop with me when i am travel around, coz it's easy to carry and i can share my travel storty whenever i have time and interent. That is awsome!
