Is it wrong to kill mice at home which destroys grains? |
|
We store plenty of grains at home. And lately we have this mice problem which destroys everything. Apart from causing us financial loss, it makes the whole place dirty, sometimes emanating horrible smell of dead rodants. People say its wrong to kill them. We tried to catch them and leave them far away. But our neighbours started complaining. If killing is wrong, then what is the solution to this problem?

3. daliaj (2865) | 6 months ago | I have a question for you 'Do you kill ants and mosquitoes when they attack you?'. If you do that, you can go ahead and kill rats. I don't think there is something wrong in killing rats since they are eating up the grains and making the house messy. We used to kill rats at home when we had cocco trees. You can buy the trap box for rats or buy a cat.
My hearty congrats on achieving your 100th post!

akiong (281) | 6 months ago | You may called me kind hearted or animal lover (cool hah). There's not about right nor wrong, I just feel pity about them. We humans already achieve to stockpile foods. The mosquitoes only want to satisfy its hunger, but it result in death.
Yes, I ever helped my mum to set a rat trap. But then I saw my mum's maid torturing it. So next time if I catch any rat, I just put it in a plastic bag and throw it away far from my house. But I've never set any trap since many years ago. I can tolerate with their existence, but they just drive me crazy. Rats are really DIRTY, my house has rat problems, I can find their dungs everywhere!
About the mosquitoes, I really hate them. I live in a tropical country, here we deal with a lot of mosquito problems. I will be waked if a single mosquito sting me while a sleep soundly. When I was young, I frequently torturing the mosquito I caught. But then I realized my palms are wet by mosquito's blood (perhaps that's my blood). It's disgusting.
If there is mosquito try to sting me, I'll shoo them away first. But if they still disturbing me, I'll use the mosquito spray. I use only the less poison ones, it won't kill instantly. They will have chances to survive if they fly away and breath some fresh air.
It's not about crime nor wrong to kill animals. But don't you feel pity? Luckily I saw on tv ads, but unfortunately I never find it on my local store. There are some electronic devices that can vibrate sound which not heard by humans but will shoo insects and rodents away. Anybody here ever tried it? Does it really work? Is it expensive or not? If it avaiable on my local store, I will buy it. No need to kill them, it's enough to shoo them away.
Happy myLottint!

| oneshy (17) | 6 months ago | Ask your neighbors if they would like to babysit 15 or 20 mice if you can catch them alive. They are vermin and there is no law against killing them. Cats are ineffective against large numbers of mice and will actually get bored with killing them unless you stop feeding the cat. There are box type traps that allow you to keep the dead out of sight if you're worried about the neighbors. Vermin and insects eat 20% of our harvested food every year and the industry spends billions on eradication. If the infestation is really bad there may be a local gov't entity that can help. Do your part! Wipe 'em out!

6. pratyushtamhankar (526) | 5 months ago | I feel it is wrong to kill them. After all, they are hungry so they eat. I feel that they should be caught using a mouse trap and should be thrown out somewhere far away where they wouldn't trouble anyone...

| wolvarein (17) | 4 months ago | mice do not eat because they are hungry. In mice the froth teeth grows till their whole lifetime as a result they feel like bitting things as it keeps there teeth filed and small if they stop bitting things it might lead to there death thats why you find the wires and the plastic things bitten by them .
