Why I am glad Christ is my rock.

The contemporary American church has lost most of its fear of God, and that is one big reason why it is so weak. God knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust (Psalm 103:14). How does a father "pity" His children? He considers their weakness, immaturity, and ignorance, and so does not require of them more than they can handle. Our Father does the same with us (1 Cor. 10:13).

Your discussion describes some of the reasons I do not believe in Organized Religion. During my years growing up churchgoing was forced on me so much I really started to resent going to church when so many of people there were hypocrites, gossipers, Mon through Sat sinners, never heard a sermon that did not include asking for money in one way or another. So I quit going for many years then when I cam to the states I thought it may be different here so I started attending church again but it was just the same and I did try different denominations. So I quit again.
I believe Religion focuses on what pleases man. Being spiritual focuses on what pleases God.

Why Believers should not attend Church

A "Church" is basically a temple made with hands. Does God dwell in temples made with hands? Scripture tells us:


Acts 7:48, "Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands;"

One reason that churches have fallen into such disfavor, lotterylover, is because they are filled with hypocrites. Nobody attended church more than my family when I was growing up, and I really loved going to church. However, as I grew older I became privy to much that was going on with the church members and leader that had previously been hidden from me. Needless to say, the bloom was off the rose after that. I refused to follow the teachings of people who were so morally bankrupt. I drifted away from the church, but never lost my love for Christ and my Bible. I hope that it won't be held against me on that all-important day, but I refuse to attend what I see most churches have become in today's world.

Christ is my rock also and i have seen people leave the chruch because of some one they didn't like was comning to chruch. i believe it is wrong for people to do this.i donn't belive some one should tell some one else not to come to chruch. we need to pray for that person.i hope she did not stop comning to chruch.

there are times in one's life when he would lose his self esteem because of something that happened in his life. he couldnt trust anyone, and he becomes bitter about everything and would even blame God.
for us people who knows persons like this, we should include them in our prayers always that they find the answers to their problems and the right path again and they return to God.

people today have lost their fear of God and do not follow his ways. I guess people think that with all the technology we have today we do not need God to take care of us. That is wrong. We have drifted away from our lord.
A few years ago, I called myself a christian, but was not actually one. I went to church and sunday school with my family, but did nto really grasp what jesus was all about. Then, a friend asked me to go to with her to a youth group/bible study, and that was when I really started believing. I am thankful to her for that.

I read in my Bible Psalm 119:165 which says that "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." It says that if you love God and His law, nothing or no one shall be able to offend you. And therefore, I agree with you that no fellow Christian or anybody can offend us if we truly have Christ in our heart and we love Him!

Do you really love lottery? you shouldn't if your really are in Christ. Anyway back to your topic , about Christ as the Rock of our Salvation. If we really are a True Follower of Christ, nothing can move us. We should not focus on what man does. Many preachers, teacher fall out of faith but then we should not be shaken but to continue praying for them and not to condemn them.

Being in a church or going to a church does not mean you really are a Christian. Only God sees the motives of our hearts. If we do this only for a show so that men may see us, then in the first place we really aren't saved, because we are just justifying ourselves by what we do, and not because of our Faith in Christ nor did we believe that Salvation is by Grace, not by good works so that you and I shouldn't boast.

I have nothing against going to church. In fact, I do encourage it because of the fellowship of the saints. But we should remember that, we ourselves are the church if Christ resides in our hearts and if we live a holy life. Christ is not after checking our attendance in church, it will be just a routinary thing, being religious, if you consider that. What is important is if we follow what Christ is saying in His Word. In the ten commandments we are told to leave a day of Sabbath for God, but Christ needs all of your time, moment by moment. He did not lower the standards, but in fact he raised the bar.

We should not focus our faith only in a building or structure, that if we don't attend, we feel guilty. We really should know that God is not bounded by these things. We can worship Him anytime of any day and every thing of us, we offer to Him alone. I am not saying also that ok, don't attend church then, because it does not work that way either. We need to share what we have. We need to fellowship to one another to be stronger in Christ. That is what the church is doing in the first place. To strengthen each other and helping each other and to reach out the lost.

Yes, it does affect on us..simply because were human and it's not new to make mistakes or make wrong judgement..but despite of that GOD and CHrist had been there thick and thin even though we don't really paying much attentio to him anymore. ..temptation is part of human test and once they fell that's it..but that doesn't they can't recover and repent..there's always a second chance and that's what Christ gave us...Hope.

Once one person is attracted to Christ he always a disciple what ever his circumstances may make him mad
