Does recession affects mobile sales

i do not have any data on how much the economic slowdown have affected cell phone sales, but all i can say is i still hear cellphones ringing when i go out to eat. you can see people talking on their cell phones in the street or cars. many people are now dependent on their cellphone to make a living so, if a new cellphone with different features come out they will more than likely buy that cellphone for many different reasons. i think that sales for cellphones may have dropped off by 20 to 30%.

I feel recession has not affected mobile sales as I find mobile sales are high in mobile shops and new models getting introduced in market almost every month and they make huge profit by selling these new models too...I dont have any idea about mobile sales in other countries but in india mobile sales are going on high..Happy mylotting:)

Hi, I do not think that recession in any way has affected the mobile sales or production, In fact the number of mobile users seem to be increasing day by day and some people have even two or three mobile with them. Now a days a mobile has become a must to every man and with cheaper sets available in the market and exchange offers I think recession has not much affected the mobile market.
