oh wow, thanks for the information my friend I'll check the out, but to tell you the thruth, I really love the free websites and their format, cause despite the money I think is a good choice almost compared to geocities at least in the matter of easy use and format...I haven't buy any website from them though but is good to know affiliate program is a fraud according to you, I'll check for other people comments to find out...thanks a lot!

Tubeth, it may look good, but they will ask you to download a file, which you did, and who knows it might leave your system vulnerable. Anyway, stay away, I've seen lot of horror stories of them. There are many other free webhosts, try one of them. Google is your friend.

hi, I've done some research of the site, and is true is a SCAM, I've report them to Internet Crime Complaint Center, also found a lot of people waiting to get paid by them!! It's so unfair...I was so overwhelmed my my beautiful site and the free templates they offered me, see what other are saying on the net:

they say this:

"000webhost is a 100% free scam host. Free hosting while they tell lies about their affiliate program. Had $305 dollars. Same as many, I started asking questions why my Paypal payment was taking so long while eligible for payment. I heard 3 excuses in 3 months. Again I was 100% eligible for payment. The $305 had undergone their newer 60 days verification system. Still no money. Owww please let this 000webhost scam soon be over. Complaint at every possible institute you know. You can even sent this in to the FBI. Let it be known. Don't give this guys the benefit of their Google ads revenues where they clearly make their money from".

and this one:

Save yourself a huge headache and HEED the warnings you've read elsewhere about this "affiliate program". It is a TOTAL scam. I fell for the lucrative prospect of $5 per signup but now I am in the same boat as all the others.

I signed up nearly 40 customers in less than a month and waited patiently for them to finish the "verification" process. After one month (30 days) affiliates are to be paid on the first of the following month.

Today (December 21, 2008) I receive an "announcement" in my affiliate home page stating the following (which others report as well):

"""Announcement: we have started to use 60 days signup verification procedure (we used 30 days signup verification system before). That is because we received lots of fraudulent signups especially from Vietnam and China and we need more time to check everything. So if you have referred user today, it will be credited in 2 months. We need these 2 months to protect us from fraudulent signups. We are sorry if we made any inconveniences for you and let us to know if you have any questions."""

FUNNY though, because I ONLY accept US traffic through google adwords and facebook ads, so there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that you were getting ANY Chinese and/or Vietnamese traffic to my referral link.

This is teh SAME tactic they use on everyone else. The thing is, this announcement was NEVER updated in their terms of service, thus making it a non-enforceable term of the affiliate promoting/payment conditions. As such the host is in breach of their contractual obligation to meet the payment deadline of January 1st if they indeed intend to hold off payment for another 30 days.

I suggest ANYONE who was scammed by this company take the time to report them to the host as well as PAYPAL so that paypal investigates and hopefully FREEZES their assets associated with their paypal account and puts a bit of hindrance at the very least on their scamming.

I also encourage anyone that has been scammed to file a formal complaint with the FBI online fraud division: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx They are there to stop online fraud, even for just a few hundred bucks. With enough of us together, we will get the FBI's attention.

Also file a complaint at the FDC. http://www.fdc.go

I apologize to all of you my friends...since I have done some research to to a comment posted on previous message, Many people are saying the free web page site is a scam and I foudn out there where so many people that have lost their sites and information from them, including a referral program they have that never pays..I'm so sad since it was too good to be true...I have reported it to some internet sites that protects buyers and people from scams...so I'm sorry for introducin you to this site, I had to be too good to be true, I'll be searching other free host for you gys and hope is better and legit...good luck!

If you don't upload anything for like a certain period of time, they will close your account. But it's not hard to upload something. For a free service, I think it's great.

I apologize, I've done so research and many say it is a scam site and that the also offer a referral program that does not pay at all...please check previous posts to see the info ans to help us suit this site so they could take it off the net for good...have a nice day!

You really should have read the whole discussion before commenting. You would have learned that the site she is talking about is a scam.

tell me about it, i had 3 sites too...had to move them to blogs, but I want you to read please the previous posts in this discussion, a friend told me it was a scam, and I did some research now, posted a few things you should know aboit this site...good luck

Thanks, both of you! I haven't signed up yet, so all is good. My husband told me I should move all my geocities sites over to my paid web host, GoDaddy. So, that's what I intend to do, at least for now. I mean, I've already paid for it so why not use it? I have a business site that GoDaddy hosts and plan on maintaining indefinitely, so why not take full advantage of it?

hi, thanks a lot for you comment, is very helpful, I'm so sorry this one didn't work since I just loved my site template, I found about it on microworkers, and they were paying to sign up, I was not going to use it until I though those beautiful graphics and the cheap webpage offers...I don't know why but when a site has this popuparity, I don't do a previous research, but I always try all the sites I recommend to see if the are scams, I just found out this last night and really too good to be true...
