Have you lost you job due to the crisis?

I'm currently looking for a job, and have applied all over my town, up and down mainstreet, outskirts businesses, applications online and by phone. Noone is hiring!
I need to start working so i can have references when i go to college, but it's impossible to even begin work. I believe that this is only a temporary state though, so i'm looking forward to pulling out of the recession and getting out there and working.

Last summer and fall I was working for a company that did first responder clean up after floods, hurricanes, plane crashes.....etc. We work in Houston for a while after IKE and it was a mees, they then sent us to Galveston TX, but it was really trashed, there we no motels, so they put us up just south of Houston about an hour away and rented us vehicles to drive back and forth! We haad our own vehicles but they said we had to use the ones they rented for insurance reasons! We'll at 6 AM on a Sunday we were on our way to work and a drunk driver rear ended us at a red light it had just turned green and we were going slow and she was going 65mph and didn't slow down, I had 7 compressed vertebrae, and a torn rotator cuff. This was in October, She had $50,000 insurance, I had to wear a brace for 6 weeks, and the surgery for my shoulder is $65,000 I got laid off right after the accident. The company is denying any responsibility for anything, in Texas you can't sue your company! So my attorneys are fighting with workers comp. to get my surgery done! I'm in pain and still waiting for a decision. After the lay off It took 8 weeks til I got any unemployment checks! During that time I got kicked out of my apt. all my credit cards are in collection, I had to sell my Plasma for food and lived in the back of my pick up truck, it has a cap on it! I was making $1400 a week til then! Now I'm barley getting by and I need to get fixed up the recovery from the surgery is 6 to 8 weeks! I'm 61yrs. old and nothing like this has ever happened to me before! tdemex

No, I haven't. I wasn't working to begin with. I retired 6 years ago, and have had 2 part-time jobs since. I am looking for a part-time job right now, and I think I'm gonna get one soon...I am sending you best wishes for you to get the job you need and like.

Fortunately, I haven't lost my job due to the crisis. But, business has slowed down, and we have to keep busy and work very hard not to miss any opportunites and possibilities that come up.

I have been searching for work for 7 months now since january and to be honest i just feel like giving up.I visit sites like craigslist 24/7 and send out resumes and get no call backs and i go walking around in my local area and i still can't see a sign that says( HELP WANTED OR HIRING ).
