Okay, it's official! Celebrity news offends me!  

I got back home and read a celebrity article called "Hard Sell: The Top 12 Ineffective Celeb Ads". There were a few things that disgusted me about it.

(Warning: I WILL go on a tyrade...)

The first thing that absolutely offended me was when they talked about Audrina Patridge doing a commercial for Carls Jr. Here's what they said:

"Two problems here: Drooling frat boys don't watch "The Hills." Girls who watch "The Hills" are, like their patron St. Audrina, usually resistant to solid food."

I wish I could express in words how much this offended me. Let's look at what is being said here for a moment...

Notice how they say "drooling" frat boys. Not just any frat boys but the ones that drool. Yeah, they pretty much put fraternities into a box. Disgusting. But the second message is even worse! They're saying that girls who watch the hills are all anorexic/bulemic! Yet again, they put a group of people, this time being girls who are fans of "The Hills" into a box! Words cannot describe how offended I am!

The second thing that offended me... They described Jennifer Love Hewitt in a Hanes commercial like this:

"There J. Love was, being called out for losing her "I Know What You Did Last Summer" physique, all while modeling the latest in letting-yourself-go undergarments. Rough."

Are they saying she's fat!? Seriously, go and look at the commercial if you can, I'll wait...

Okay, does she REALLY look fat? Seriously, it's like if a model isn't skin and bones, they're automatically fat. What do people want from them!? Personally I think that's a good shot! She looks beautiful in it!

Third thing that offends me about it... Yet another ad makes a shallow remark, and this time it's aimed at MADONNA!

"... There's something about an aging pop icon doing suggestive leg lifts with a designer purse that seems wrong... Perhaps because it brings to mind the feel of old leather?""

This is absolutely appalling! I mean, c'mon, it's Madonna! And they're making a crack at her because she's OLD!? Seriously, it's like they're saying old people shouldn't have sex or something because they feel like "old leather"! That just comes with so many derogatory meanings I'm surprised I don't throw my PC out the window just hearing it!

The last extremely offensive thing was what they said about Hulk Hogan in an ad for 10-10-220:

"When we think of Hulk Hogan, we don't usually think about thinking..."

Yeah, those guys must not have been thinking if they think every wrestler is dumb. Yet another shallow remark putting some group of people in a box.

So... Who honestly LIKES the people who write these columns so much that they continue doing it? Because, honestly, they deserve to get fired.
