Do you keep in touch with your friends in school after you graduated?

I have quite a number of friends from elementary who I still communicate with until now. It also amazes me how we used to be kids and now we have our won kids. I am really closer to my elementary and HS friends than my college friends. Those who were with me in elementary and HS saw each other grow up. To this date, my close friends and I go out for drinks or dinner or a simple lunch when our schedule permits.

Sad to say that I have lost touch with most of my childhood friends, classmates and college mates after we graduated and move on in my lifes. But there are often times that I will wonder how they are doing when I looked back at the photographs and pictures that we have taken. And with the help of Facebook, I have managed to trace and locate several old classmate and have rekindle our friendship which was great. It's nice to sit down now and chat about our schooldays and the mischiefs we were up to while we still do not have a care in the world. Those were the days.

Well I am still friends with one of my friends from high school. When I graduated (in the age before email) I went into the Army and was stationed in Germany. My friend and I would send letters to each other every now and then during that time and even after I got out. Then computers came around and social networking and now we keep in touch through the computer. I do think it is possible to be friends for a lifetime though it probably isn't heard of that often.

My ex school mates will make it a point to meet once every Chinese New Year(CNY).
Most Chinese will try their level best to go back hometown to visit family and friends during CNY even when they are in overseas. Those who organised even get it published on local Newspapers of the gathering to allowed those 'not in contacts' to join too! With internet, face book, sms organising is such a breeze now!
It is overwhelming to see the crowd getting bigger year by year with their additional family members, boyfriends, husbands, children...lol

We do meet each other during other small festivals like "Moon Cake Festival", tea gathering for a chat and some catch-up. If anyone of them need prayers..or any functions they will sms each other for supports! I do have other small gathering with my diplomas' group discussions members. Also during CNY. Looks like during CNY is the best time to get hold of everyone..

you can never forget friends, regardless of whether that friend has been good to you or not..i dont have the numbers of my elementary friends but i do know their places, and we tend to meet each other during our reunion every year..and for me, even if we dont see each other that much, still we are friends no matter what, our special moment when we are still in elementary will still remain in my heart and my mind..wew, i started missing them now..T_T, you reminded me of my long lost friends..thanks for posting this topic..

there was alot of freinds that i wanted to keep in touch with but they nor do i have the time...i love them all and sometimes ill get a phone call from one of them or something...see one of them somewhere and do some catchin up....a few of my freinds i do see regularly but they were my closer freinds in school...the ones i grew up all the way with....i think thats its good to keep in touch with them...and sometimes your freinds you find out were cl;oser to you then you thought at the time....

Yep i'm in touch with most of all my good friends, though we all are spread around the world now..Nowadys internet and secondly the phone is there,so assiseable, and cheap, we do take care to atleast wish each other on b'day's and anniversaries..

And secondly, as we all go back atleast once to our home town, we do meet each other, or atleast each other parents, so we do have a touch with each other..

there are many friends in life. but not all the same level.
after graduation, i only contact some we were good friends then. some, maybe will forget, seems a little cruel. but that's the reality. we each are choosing.
the ones from the elementary school, even many years we never met, when we meet, we still are very good frieds.

Forgetting Old Friends Is Not Necessarily Controlled By Us ... As Time Drifts, We Meet New People ..... If we dont come across Our Old Friends For A Long time .... We Tend to forget them.. But Only till we meet them Again ........ Do Lot More On Mylot .........

I have moved a lot in my life, many times while i was still in school and now as an adult i live half way across the country form where i grew up. This has made it more difficult to stay in touch with friends form my younger years, though not impossible! Thanks to social networking sites such as facebook and myspace, i have been able to reconnect with people i haven't seen in years! In fact just this week i was finaly able to track down my best friend from highschool on facebook. We were both so happy to hear from eachother and have sent many messages back and forth catching eachother up on what has gone on in our lives since we graduated high school and went our seperate ways...her to college...me to move to the east coast form the mid-west!

I think the best one yet though sometime last year. As i said i moved around a lot, even when i was little, but when i was in second grade i made a wonderful friend named Larissa. Larissa's mother and mine worked together at a nursing home and we were constant companions, her staying in town with me and my family for some weekends, me getting to stay with her family on their farm for others. unfortunately my family moved after just one year.

We didn't move too far away, just the next town over, but that meant we didn't see eachother every day at school or get to hang out as much, so instead we would write eachother letters and send these letters with pictures and drawings and things to work with our mothers, who would exchange them for us.

This went on for a couple of years until my family moved AGAIN...and much father away this time. So we had to up it a notch. We became actual pen pals, sending our letters through the mail. The only time we really got to see eachother was one week a summer, as we both attented the same Christian summer camp. We looked forward to that week every year all the way through high school!

Unfortunately after high school we lost contact with eachother for 4 or 5 years. As i said, i moved across the country and we both got immersed in our lives..(me getting married, then divorced...her getting married and having children..etc..) Then one day i logged onto myspace and there was her name a picture with a friend request! we spent those first few weeks messaging back and forth to eachother and catching eachother up on what had happened in all that time. We kept cracking eachother up with stories form our past...times spent at summer camp...stories form the public pool we spent so much time at during the summer. We don't talk every day...or evn every week, but we still message eachother on occasion, and thanks to status updates on facebook and myspace we are clued into eachothers lives again.

and when i go back to nebraska on my next trip to visit my family, i can't wait to meet up with her for dinner, and meet her husband and five year old son!
