OceanTiara, remember, at the time it was really nothing, as neither group was all that well known. I was just reporting for North Miami High School in Florida, and the groups were a lot like big goofs, just having fun and acting silly. There was a fuss over them, but not much, because they hadn't even become stars yet. There were interviews with a lot of the 1960s bands, because everyone plays Miami at one time or another.
My father kept the articles, and I don't know what ever happened to them over the years.
I was a very shy kid, and it's hard to believe I did those things. I also interviewed Muhammad Ali when his name was still Cassius Clay, and he was a newcomer to boxing.
I guess it's just proof I'm old!
