Who is trying to lose weight here? Care to share your weight loss journey please  | | I want to know that I am not alone on trying to lose weight. If you could share me your weight loss experiences, it will be appreciated.
I think i mentioned this on my other discussion, but let me reiterate: i have been losing weight since March, 2009.. and lost 18lbs already. I am working on the last 15lbs.. I am doing anything under the sun. whatever works, really. I joined a gym, of which i still attend to until now.. i do calorie restriction. a lot.. and only feast on weekends, but do not starve myself. at least, that is what i believe. I have this gym buddy and i am a lot heavier than her.. (at first) but i lost weight fast than her. she only lost 6lbs i guess? i am not sure how it happened or why.. but we are on the same program. cardio exercises and strength training after, then sauna bath.
Until now, i am mixing and matching ways to lose weight. as i have said, WHATEVER WORKS!

I was in a car accident and with having a back injury and so many restrictions even some of the medications they put me on just ballooned me up and packed on the pounds. I gained over 60 pounds because of all this. I am slowly working the pounds away and getting back to normal. But I have to do it in moderation. I have completely changed my diet. Before I could eat what I wanted but I was very active and was burning the calories away. So now changing my diet is one of the biggest things for me. I do go swimming for at least 2 hours everyday. Weekends I get a break. But even through the week I have to take that in moderation as well. I do the recumbent bike at home while on the computer on mylot here or watching TV. I also do the hot tub and sauna after to relax my muscles.
So far it has helped me. I am working on the last 30 pounds.

I finally decided that the only way I as going to be able to lose the wieght and keep it off would be if I did it the healthy way. For the past two years, I have been using sparkpeople to help me do this. Since I signed up, I have been able to lose 40 pounds the healthy way. Unfortonately I had a knee injury and I gained back 10 pounds. I know though, that when I am able to get back to my "full power" exercises, I will be able to gt back on track.

It has a calorie counter where you can log what you eat, a place to log your cardio workouts, a strengh exercise generator, TONS of information related to health, motivation,wellness and fitness, and an amazing support system! I have met some really awesome people on the site. You could kinda describe the site overall as an educational myspace for those wanting to get healthy. I ended up quitting because I ended up feeling worse about myself when I didn't get stellar results and let down my team. I think I would do better with a hometown buddy that I could hang out with and who could help motivate me to exercise and such.

| | | 3. cegypt01 (61) | 6 months ago | Be careful with the calorie restriction for a lot of people that doesn't work because the body needs a certain amount of calories to begin with when you take reduce that amount the body thinks that it is being starved and fights back by raising what you need. If you eat right and start walking a nice paced walk without running or jogging you can lose weight. Running and jogging aren't as good as everyone thinks that it is. How tall are you, age, and beginning weight?

2 years ago I lost 60 pounds. Then through depression, and other things I gained it all back. I decided I would lose it again. So far I have been sticking with it, and the pounds are just about melting off.
I exercise 45-60 minutes every day except the weekends. I stopped eating chips, french fries and fast food. I eat cereal and nuts as snacks as well as fruit. My dinners are usually small like a hot pocket or a hotdog. Ive been eating alot more grilled items without butter. Like grilled garlic shrimp, and baked chicken. I stay away from mayo on my sandwichs and try to add more healthy things to them. Lately I have been making sandwichs with grilled shrimp, lettuce, banana peppers, and a slice of cheese on whole grain wheat.

I lost my first 50 lbs in a very unhealthy way, and developed a form of bulimia because of it. I have now managed to recover from that, and have started losing the rest of the weight properly. Right now I am in the 170's and hope to be down another 15 lbs by the end of summer.
I don't know about anyone else, but for me, because I have been overweight from early childhood, I am excited to finally reach a normal weight, but at the same time I am terrified. I have never been thin. I don't know what my body will look like thin, what my shape will be. I will have to completely adjust my way of thinking, as I only know how to look at myself as overweight. I don't know how my attitude will change (if at all) or how my social situation and opportunities in life will change. It's daunting and exciting. I guess I just have to bite the bullet and see where life takes me!

I still have the same shape after high school, but I think my thought about my body shape is lower than a normal person^0^ so totally I don't care.
College, I think the fats totally disappear so I think my body was okay now. I am 110lbs and I am 21 years old. I think it is kinda okay.
But after getting this medication cause unfortunately I get infected by Koch's infection[thank God it is minimal], I felt that my eating habits change tremendously.
Before I eat once a day. I dunno where did I get those habit, but now 2 cups of rice every meal. So to think it is like 6 times a day? I am now totally worried.
But right now, I am trying to balance things to specially my food. I drink a lot of water since it is good for the skin too. I am lazy to do exercise but I am thinking bout that too.
Please don't think about those scary diet pills. Stay fit in the natural way.

I am not going to get another shot in August when it is due. I hope I can start to get rid of some of this excess. Does anyone know which birth control pill has the least potential to cause weight gain? I need something to help regulate my cycle or I get it every two or three weeks. And that really sucks alot.

I 5'2 and weight 105lbs, I have two children as well. Before I married, I weight 120lbs and wear size 9 jean. What a shame? then I went on diet, just cut down what I eat and exercise more. within 3 months, I lost a lot and then I tried on jean. Guess what? i fit size 3 ( from 9 to 3) how great it was, right? I was so happy then my weight starts to keep off from that time... then my size 3 jean went down to 0 and then 00. I got scare myself... so I start to eat more and more. it is still the same, no matter what I eat I still wear size 00 and 105lbs or 100lbs sometimes. When I had my first child, I weight 125lbs during pregnancy and then after that I came back to normal, even with my second one. Now, im the same and the same... No matter what I do, eat or sleep... I still in the same weight. I am happy what I am now cuz I can eat whatever I want and sleep whenever I want too... lolz.

| | | 9. pinkice09 (9) | 6 months ago | Different ppl have different burning fat rate,maybe hers is a bit on the retaining side.I have a friend who only eat oranges(and only oranges,mandarin not) for 2 weeks.Well she lost 7kgs.It helped her vita c and skin,but side affects is,after 2 months,she gain 3 kgs again,cuz she ate normally again after that 2 weeks.I am now trying the oranges but with at least 1 full meal per day and 2 exercises per week like swimming and cycling.It seems to help a little.Maybe if u add that to your regime,it would help.^^
