trying something you read?

Have you ever read a book and there was something in there that just hit you like... I want to try that out for mysel??

I have to say that a couple years ago I started reading again... I was a huge reader when I was a teenager and a few yrs back we bought a fixer upper house. While I was unpacking I found a box of books that my mom had bought me over the years and I kept adding them to this box for the "one day I will read these" and in between projects when we were working on the house and I had downtime --being a full time mom-- I started to pick up those books and read.

I started with the historical romance books and it got me doing research on historical facts and places, it was amazing to me....of course I hated history class in school although I have to say this was put much differently when you read a story that takes place in a certain time and place.

because of those historical books it really got me wanting to take up horseback riding...which I havent yet, but then I now have another baby (well 1 yrs old) and with money and things I havent got around to it.

so I was wondering have you read anything that you had to try??
