And Harvard University needs this guy? Yes, yes, of course, he would see Obama as Martin Luther King during his "I have a dream" speech. Only because he is part black. And it does not matter what Obama says. Any black man would do. It is because he is part black. It is not about what he says or stands for. Gates thinks that all black men would stand for what he stands for just because they are black. Wrong, Mr. Gates. Not all black people stand for what you do. We have to be careful that in this life the decent black people are not forgotten. We cannot think that they are all like you are because they aren't!

i understand both sides of the story only because yes he should not of got arrested for being in his own house once he proved it was him , but when he gave then a problem thats when i could see why they did it but we will never know the whole story.the only thing that made me mad about the whole thing is they brought race into when obama never said it was about race i watched the whole thing and race was never brought up.

I heard some other things about this man tonight. For one thing he testified in court for that group 2 live crew when they were in trouble for their filthy lyrics. He said that those dirty words like m f-er and the b word was part of the black experience. And that you shouldn't judge literature unless you're from that culture.

I'm sorry, but slavery is wrong. There is no doubt on the suffering of generations of poeple; however, the Portuguese where the hunters and slave traders. I've talked to people in India that even know that so what is Gates real motive here? If he was so bend on a lawsuit he'd be out there trying to sue Portugal for harvesting generations of what he deems his own countrymen?

I mean think about this. If he is so proud to be an African-American, then BE one.

However, I never called myself a Swedish-American so I don't understand why we need to label ourselves to make us different. I mean you really think about it - aren't we ALL Americans? Shouldn't we be? Keep trying to re-define it and don't you further separate people?
