Their Not What You Think... |
|
I was watching a program this morning and it was one of those murder shows. A woman was found dead in her home and the police were unraveling who did it. Halfway through they figured out that it was her husband but they still didn’t know why. The rest of the show was spent tracking down this woman’s past, only to find out at the end that she used to be a he. It turned out that the husband found out that his wife of 10 years used to be a guy…he wigged out and killed her.
It got me to thinking how ppl would react if they found out their partner used to be the opposite of what they are now. Personally, if I found out my Hubby used to be a woman, I’d definitely have problems with it. Not just b/c he used to be a woman but b/c he lied to me and deceived me. I wouldn’t go to the extreme of killing him but I probably wouldn’t stay with him either…there would be a whole breakdown of trust between us. I’d expect the same would be true if the situation was reversed and I used to be a man.
How would you react if you found out your partner used to the opposite sex? How do you think they would react if they found out the same thing about you? Would you tell your partner right off the bat if you used to be the opposite sex or try to hide it from them?

You are right it is all about trust, trust is the foundation of my relationship with my husband. We discussed things when we were dating that most people do not even touch on until they are married because we needed to know if we could trust each other.
I have no idea how I would react, or if I could continue our marriage, but thankfully, if he is hiding something it is not as major as that.
Great discussion!!

3. dolphin2406 (693) | 5 months ago | If the partner lied to me and for all those years I would surely leave. I don't have any problem with men changing to women as some of them are really beautiful and if they didn't tell you, you would not have noticed that they were a man. But I am very serious when it comes to trust and telling lies is the worst that could happen.

9. happyness3 (296) | 5 months ago | I would probably say I would leave him...well, her. If we had a really strong relationship I would maybe try to at least stay civil with each other, but I could no longer be in a relationship because of the lies. But, since my parter and I are having a baby, I don't think I have to worry about this, haha. But a very good discussion!

10. reinydawn (4236) | 5 months ago | It is so strange that that can happen, but I'm sure it does. I would hate to live a lie and would hate to be lied to about that. I don't know that I'd commit murder over it, but I'd definitely want out of the relationship.
