Do you use a cellphone to talk, or the other features? |
|
As cellphones revolutionize every year, companies keep adding more and more features you couldn't expect to have on a cellphone! What I find amazing nowadays is that ordinary people would go out and buy a smart phone, that usually only business people would purchase to use! This is probably because phones of every kind are free falling into prices so cheap, you can even get a majority of phones for free! Lot of cell phone companies offer phones for so cheap because they hook you into their Cellphone plans, which cost from $30-$100 a month for those features.
The phone I have is a Sony Ericsson, which is a W760 or something like that, which advertised came with a MP3, camera, internet 3G, etc. Today, I only use it to actually call people, as I don't want to pay an extra $30 for those feature I will barely use. I got the phone cheap at $75, and my monthly plan is only $20.
So what kind of person are you, going all out and buying the phone of your dreams and spending over $50 per month for it, or a moderate and conservative user like me who actually use what it was invented for, calling other people?

minhminh0604 (308) | 5 months ago | I used to do the same like you. After having my new phone, the Iphone, I started to change. It has so many awesome applications, I can stop myself from using it. I can even use facebook, mylotting, recording, photoshop, and etc. I am so pleased about my cellphone and its own features.

2. katsalot1 (875) | 5 months ago | I also have a Sony Ericsson. It has a camera, which I have used occasionally. I found it useful when I was shopping, and saw something that I thought my daughter might be interested in - so it was handy to be able to send her a picture to see if she wanted me to get it for her. I've never used the radio (except to try it out) and I know you can use it to access e-mails, but I'm never far from home anyway so have no need of that. The signal is so poor where I live that I can rarely receive calls, but text messages usually get through. I really only need a cellphone for the basics, and wish they would make a range of simple, straightforward and easy to use phones for people who only want to use phones as phones!

4. JoyfulOne (4241) | 5 months ago | I pretty much only use my cell phone just to talk. Once in a while I get a text message, but that's about it outside of the clock/alarm feature. I figure I really don't need all those extra bells and whistles because I'd probably never use them...so why pay extra just to have features that I'll never use anyways.

5. macdingolinger (1186) | 5 months ago | I really only use my phone for a phone! I actually have a camera and even a video camera on the phone but I totally forget to use it. I guess some of that is because I don't have any way to get them off the phone if I did take them!

| 7. krodrigues (70) | 5 months ago | I mainly use my phone to text message. Although, on the odd occasion I'll use it to call my mom or something of the sort. I have a few songs that I put into it, but don't really find the need to listen to them very often because I already have an Ipod.

8. abenitez (359) | 5 months ago | When I buy a phone I make sure that it can do it all. I use e-mail, internet, mp3, microsoft word, powerpoint, and excel on the phone. I use a lot of other features such as gps and a camera. I just feel like it is easier to have one device that can do everything.

| 9. bohemian03 (76) | 5 months ago | i used to have a sony ericsson too! except i wasn't too happy with it because all i could do was call. now i have the iphone 3GS which absolutely amazing and i usually play games or listen to music on it rather than using the phone. i probably will use it once school starts but at the moment applications are what i spend my time on with my phone. i'm the sort of person who needs the newest gadget so i will use every feature there is and i wouldn't mind spending a lot of money on it too because it really is worth it.:)

| 10. Marciano09 (28) | 5 months ago | It depends on what type of phone you have. I have a blackberry and I love to surf the net and I enjoy sending txt messages. To be honest with you, I barely talk on the phone. So if i had to buy a plan with a certain amount of minutes, a package that includes 300-500 minutes would be fine with me. But in my situation, I live on an island where the majority of the people use prepaid cellphones, and the difference about the prepaid cellphones here compare to the ones I have experienced in FL is that we only get charged for calling another person. We do not get charged for someone else calling us. And the rates are pretty cheap; around $0.10 per minute:D and the texting is even cheaper; around $0.07 per minute;-)
