AARRRGGHH!!!! My Watch Just Bit The Dust!! |
|
@#$%^$#!!! I loved that watch!! Nice big white face, nice sharp and big black numbers, 3 moving hands, second hand a different colour from the other two so I could tell the difference, and not look at the Second Hand when I wanted to see the Minute Hand, and it worked really well. Every year I'd go to one of my favourite stores, and get a new strap, and a new battery for it. Last night the stupid thing stopped, and today I decided to get a new battery. I got the battery, paid, and ran for the bus. When I got outside, I saw that it still was not working. I took it back, and they told me the battery was fine, the watch was the problem. DANG!!!! Now I need to get a new watch.
Anyone else out there go absolutely bonkers when you don't have a working watch? I feel like I'm missing a hand, or something!! LOL

1. ElicBxn (15610) | 6 months ago | after killing about 5 watches in short succession, I decided I wasn't meant to own one - I don't miss it now, but when I was first without, I was always trying to look at the darn thing!

danishcanadian (20760) | 6 months ago | That would be a good enough reason not to own a watch. I'm usually very good with watches, it's just the "inbetween" period when I don't have one, that's hard. I must have looked at my wrist 500 times today.

2. byfaithonly (6302) | 6 months ago | I'm sorry to hear about your watch problem but afraid I can't relate. I haven't worn a watch in probably 20 or more years. Drives me crazy not to have a clock in sight but can't stand to wear a watch - always catching on something or just annoyes me having something on my wrist, feel like I have a handcuff on or something - is that weird or what:(

danishcanadian (20760) | 6 months ago | My idea of hard physical labour is typing. haha So I don't have to worry about it catching on anything.

byfaithonly (6302) | 6 months ago | LOL - hard labor typing - that's what I do all day, that and talk on the phone but also have ADD so I always manage to get caught on something - got my phone headset twisted up in my hair just today - don't has me how but I did, girl next to me had to help get it untangled:(

3. coffeebreak (4850) | 6 months ago | I love watches! I have about 12 right now with dead batteries... thing is... the batteries are about $10.. I can buy a new one for that at Kohls or Target and it'll work for a long time! But at the same time, I have some really nice ones and need to spend the $10 and get the bats and start wearing them..
I like the large face, regular numbers and black hands... I want to look at my wrist.. see the time and then move on in life.. instead of looking at a digital and trying to do the math as to how much time I have left or have used or squint at the tiny face/numbers or the worst...a watch with no numbers and you just have to take the best guess as to which number the hands are on or pointing to or nearest!

5. arkaf61 (5728) | 6 months ago | Oh no! And good watches are usually often hard to replace. I have noticed that now I need the big numbers too, and a solid background preferably white. I actually don't wear a watch at all - allergic to the metal really badly -. Neither do I use my cell to see what time it is. I might glance at a clock in a store in passing, but so far I do really good without a watch:):) Still I know what you are feeling. I still tried to use a watch some time after I got my allergy, and it was very hard to find bracelets that didn't have any metal in them - even just the little pin. So every time I found one I wanted it go last forever:)

7. beatrice03 (110) | 6 months ago | Hey there danishcanadian! Don't feel so sad, I'm sure you'll find a suited watch for you, maybe not better than the one you lost, but hey better than no watch at all right?... I never get out of the house without my wrist watch, whenever I do I just feel like there's something missing.

9. chunijole (2865) | 6 months ago | Man, it must really suck to not have a working watch. I used to have a watch that I wore all the time. But unfortunately the mechanism inside it completely broke down. So I just use my cell phone to tell the time for me now.
