3. kjscrafts (2098) | 3 years ago | I think I had one real birthday party when I was like seven where I had several friends come. For the most part though for my birthday party I had sleepovers and only had one or two friends over. Once I actually went on a weekend motorhome trip with my family and two friends for my birthday. After I finished grade school, though, my birthday became just a family thing.

4. beaniefanatic13 (1397) | 3 years ago | I did have a few birthday parties growing up but I shared them with my sister. My sister was born on my 6th birthday, so as we got older my mother threw 1 party we each got to invite a couple of people and she made separate cakes for us, but they were nothing like the kids b-parties today. I don't remember having them when I was real little, but I remember after I was about 8 I had a few.

5. kgwat70 (10106) | 3 years ago | My parents always had birthday parties for me when I was younger and still have some of those photos in my photo album. I was so much thinner back then. LOL We usually had ice cream cake for dessert and had pizza and other goodies as well as receiving gifts and playing games with family and friends.

newadd (2846) | 3 years ago | My daughter is going to turn 10 next month. And she wants to have a pizza parlor party. We are leaning that way. She wants to invite 6 of her friends. I need to start making those plans:)

7. organiclady35 (6039) | 3 years ago | My mum organised my birthday parties and I had carefully chosen friends who I invited. We played games and ate special food and I had a birthday cake. I cannot recall at what age these parties started probably after I started school at age 4 nearly 5 years. I certainly remember having parties once I reached junior age eg 7 or 8 years. We went to see a play one year and I had several friends come as well. It was fun. Even as a teenager I remember having a party when I was thirteen. After that I am not sure if I had any more parties but when I was 18 I did have a party and my parents went out for the evening. My sister was so excited that she jumped on my bed and the wooden leg on one side snapped. Fortunately no one was hurt and we were scared that our mum would go mad.
Thankfully she was ok as the bed was old and my sister and I both got new beds!

8. nannacroc (2354) | 3 years ago | My mum tried to let me have parties as a child, she'd invite my friends round and I'd go upstairs and read a book. I hated them. I would return when there was only one child left and play a game until they went home. I haven't got any better about being with a lot of people as an adult.

10. oldbuddy (5748) | 3 years ago | No because my dad was killed racing cars when I was three and my mom always had to work. but I made up for it when I turned 60 and my wife and kids gave me a surprise party with TONS of food and about 70 people having fun with a live band on our deck. The neighbors are still talking about it 8 years later but I hear next year my 70th is going to be even bigger.
