There were a lot of emotional and sad scenes in this movie. Did you cry watching it? At what part/s?

No the green mile did not make me cry because I have not seen this movie and I would not cry because some movies are fake and some are based on true stories and only god knows if this movie is based on a true story or not.

Haha why answer if you have never seen the movie. Oh well. I don't really cry from a movie based on whether it's true. I certainly have no impression that The Green Mile is true. I cried in the movie just because the story and the characters move me.

Oh yes the mouse! There were several parts that I found sad, too.

I cried hysterically at the ending of the green mile. It was really hard to watch. I really wanted to see him let off and I felt so horrible for him! My mother and I both had a crying fest together. xD

Me too! And at some other parts! I wanted to save him!

Yes, my daughter MADE me watch this movie. I didn't want to watch it, because I heard it was sad. It was a good movie, but we both cried hysterically at the end.

I cried in the Green Mile. I cried when one of the characters died. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen this but if you havn't, what are you waiting for?

myLot reputation of 74/100. anna728 (578)   ranked 2 out of 43 in the green mile  4 months ago

That's right- everyone watch!

The first time I watched this I did cry. Without ruining it for anyone that hasn't seen it, I cried towards the end when John Coffey goes on the green mile for his last walk.
I often thought that they could have made a prequel to this movie about Coffey's early life. You know how, what, why, when. It's always interested me in how he became what he was and where he family the same. Has anyone else ever wondered?

myLot reputation of 74/100. anna728 (578)   ranked 2 out of 43 in the green mile  4 months ago

Huh I never really thought about it but I think would be pretty interesting. The movie didn't really go into it, so I think you're right- that would make for an interesting prequel.

myLot reputation of 93/100. purplealabaster (745)   ranked 21 out of 43 in the green mile  3 months ago

I have always wondered about that, too. I think that would make a great movie, and I would definitely go to see it. They would have to keep the same actor as John Coffey, though, except of course in the younger scenes that he obviously couldn't play.

myLot reputation of 74/100. anna728 (578)   ranked 2 out of 43 in the green mile  3 months ago

Yeah, it would have to be the same actor for sure. He has such a presence- and where else would you find someone so big anyway?

myLot reputation of 88/100. kelly10 (208)   ranked 3 out of 43 in the green mile  3 months ago

I may write the prequel and then let the makers of the orignal buy it off me and give 10% of all future royalties. Well we can all dream can't we!
I just glad that it wasn't me left with all these questions.

myLot reputation of 93/100. purplealabaster (745)   ranked 21 out of 43 in the green mile  3 months ago

Kelly, if you write the prequel, then you are going to let us get a sneak-preview, right? It just wouldn't be right to make us wait until the movie comes out to find out the answers to all our questions - lol!

i cried so much at the end when john coffey said dont put me in the dark i's a scared of the dark nd he got executed it was so sad at the end!

myLot reputation of 74/100. anna728 (578)   ranked 2 out of 43 in the green mile  1 month ago

Yeah Coffey was so easy to feel bad for! He's such a big, strong man but everything about him was so sad, he was like a giant, innocent child.

I may start writing for TV and movies as I'm coming up with so many ideas. I watch the dectective show Monk and always thought they should do Monk The Childhood Years and guess what? They've just done Young Monk in the US and have finished filming.

My ideas really do seem to be worth something so I think that it's about time that I shared them with the people that matter. You never know I may be a millionaire sooner then I thought!

Oh yeah- at the beginning when they show him old you don't really know what's going on, but after the story is told and they show him old again you understand and it is all so sad!
