Do you know how to play chess? How good are you?

as i grow, i still dont know how to play chess. all my friends does, i just dont get it. hehehe. im still curious how to play it, too bad, my friends wont teach me, they tease me more, heheh, but im not mad at them! its ok that i dont know how to play it.

I learned chess from my father when I was 5 years old and I can say that chess can help stimulate my mind. I am still a novice and not that great with it. I am hoping that someday I will be able to play with my kids.

hey mark! i learned how to play chess when i was a kid too. my cousins taught me. when i was in high school i tried out for the varsity. however, my bestfriend won. well, we were the ones who played against each other so we pretty much know each others weakness. it was a best of 5 game and i won 2 games and he won 3. so he was the one who became the varsity player. i guess i could say i'm an average chess player too.

I learnt to play chess when i was 10 (now i am 18). That time i played chess mostly with my cousins, and that continued for around five years. I played at least a thousand games with a variety of players ranging from my friends to the local experts, and i remember losing only thrice. So, you can guess how much i love the game, in post part due to the mind power it requires.
When i was around 15, i abandoned it due to lack of time and because all those who played with me were seniors and they settled far off from the place. Now, a year and a half ago, i got a laptop, and i started playing chess titans, but not very often. I think i am not that good at it, as i often face difficulty defeating the final level.

But, the tragic state is that chess is not considered a very popular game here and faces lack of support, even when the World chess champion and the Junior World chess champion are from our country, i.e. India. This caused me never participate in official competitions and that sometimes hurts me.

I know how to play chess.. I really proud know where's the place and how horse, queen, king and other's move,,hahaha.. At that time I was in my 2nd grade junior high school and one of my class mate win chess tournament. I ask him to teach me and beat me. Yea,he beat me in 30 seconds.. Since that day I try to play chess and I can win if I play with my brother,,hahaha.. I don't really fond of chess, but I can play and I understand it..

Just like you i learned to play chess when i was seven years old, but as a girl i'm not that good my brother was joining before chess tournaments. My father taught me how to play chess he was really good he has a book a compilation of all the good players before.

I know how to play chess, my father thought how to play when I was still young. My elder always defeats me when we play chess. I am not that good in playing this, and I never enjoyed that much while playing this game . It's like I'm getting bored while playing chess .

I know how to play chess but I can say that I'm not good at it. I just know the moves. I learned playing chess when I was in elementary. In highschool I tried to join the tryouts in our school. But I didn't stay too long in that coz I really don't have the edge in this game though.

If I am not mistaken, I learned to play chess at the aged of 6-7. Dad used to teach me and my siblings, and now everyone in the family knows how to play chess even the new generations, my nephews. In my opinion, chess is a great recreational activity to pass on to younger generations because it trains them to use their brains and be sharped.

I think you must be above average instead of just a normal chess player because you have participated in many chess tournaments. Me, just average. Anyway, have you ever won something? Share with us your victory... I never entered any tournaments though, never thought of it hehe...

One day my teacher said to me, that a strong chess player will be able to make planning for his life, as a strong chess player who already know the steps to 40th. Just as the planning of his life, he already knows what will be like. Because it eventually i learned to be a chess player, unfortunately i can not be a chess player who respite. I can only play chess but not experts.
