The Fun Trilogy  | |  The Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy is a tongue-in-cheek excursion into the world of pirates in days of old. Keira does not really shine nor does Orlando Bloom. For Johnny Depp, he has always been versatile, taking all types of roles and has been critically acclaimed in some of the arty movies. This trilogy is certainly the vehicle to give him more fame. I think he is seriously close to getting an Oscar after playing such roles as Sweeny Todd and Edward Scissorshands as well as the amorous gypsy in Chocolate. For Orlando Bloom, there seems to be no improvement since the Lord of the Rings saga,though Kiera has bloomed well in movies such as Atonement lately. Of all the three movies in the Pirate series, the first one is the best! What is you opinion?

The story line was so-so but the chemistry with Depp in the lead saw the trilogy through at the box office. Good, clean fun- I agree with you. | |
