I am going to get a new cell phone soon and I'm not sure which phone would be best for me. I like to text and take pictures with my phone. I've heard touch screen phones are harder to use and very sensitive to touch. Is this true? And what kind of cell phone would you recommend?

i guess if you like very much multimedia and so photos and videos you can capures with yor camera-phone may be you can see some good models about nokia or samsung because they are generally really good as regards camera in resolution and quality media too!!
Surely if your purpose on your mobile phone is to write txt such as sms, mails or even edit short text documents...may be the virtual qwerty can be uncomfortable for you..and so you can look something that include also a real qwerty and not only virtual!!
As regards the touchscreen technology as dificult i think it is not as difficult as you can guess now..in many cass you will take the habit to touch on the screen than type on your keyboard really faster than you cna think now..surly it depends phones to phones but as you can guess inmany cases the touchscreen phone is really sensitive on the display and so you can have a bit of attention from this point of view!!
A s reagrds models i can sugggest you?mmh it is difficult because i depends from your budget you think to spend for your new mobile phone!!
S latly in nokia as n97 or samsung omnia hd they are good phones for multimedia but a bit expensive...as the sony ericsson idou ...may be also palm pre would be ok..seeing that you can see for a real qwerty and not only virtual one and may be it is a bit xheper than the last 2 i mentioned before!!

It's funny that just as I was about to post I saw an add for LG. I swear by them. I have had phones by other makers, but they don't hold up as well. Plus, I find navigating my LG easier than all the others. I've never had an issue with the camera on an LG either. Aside from that, I would look in to one of the slide phones so you can get your self a full keyboard. I think touch screens are all hype. Really cool looking but doesn't get you much more than not having it.

I love my Blackjack II (Samsung), and I text all the time. It's got the qwerty keyboard and is super easy and quick to use. The camera is pretty decent, and I got a free memory card when I upgraded to this phone, so I can take gazillions of pictures and then plug the card in the side of my laptop and upload them, again super easy and really quick. The one thing that kind of bugs me sometimes is that you can't zoom in very far with the camera, but then again it is just a cell phone and if I want a really good pic I'll use the digicam instead.:) But I've had a lot of Samsung phones over the years and I've personally found them to be the most reliable of any brands I've had.
One complaint about the Blackjack is that my previous phone died and I had to send it back and get a new unit. The keyboard slowly wore out on my previous model and I eventually ended up with a white screen, it was sort of like the phone was dying in slow motion! But the new one has been great, no problems and I've had it for over a year, and the exchange was really easy.
I've had one of the LG slide phones, I think it was the Shine or something like that - it didn't have a qwerty keyboard, I remember that much because I hated the stupid thing. And it just died all of a sudden, the phone would say it couldn't find the sim chip and you couldn't make calls or send texts to anyone. Annoying. I can't speak for their qwerty models, but I was really upset with how cheap the phone was and how quick it died and then started to fall apart.

I really don't know which phone is best, as I have had different brands over the years. Right now, I am using the LG enV touch, which I just purchased a few days ago. It is taking a lot of getting used to as it has so many features to it, but I might use them all, and if I don't then that is okay too. I have the datat plan so I can get on mylot when I am not at home. I don't want to miss one day without being on mylot if I can help it. The touch screen can be really touchy if I don't do it right, and that is hard to get used to. I usually use the inside screen so as to svoid the touch screen. lol Seriously though, it is a great phone, and I dearly love it. I recommend it, but then not sure what you are really wanting. Have a great day, and happy mylotting. happy
